Wake Up My Love (Svegliati amore mio) (Italy)

Sabrina Ferilli (Dinner Club, Beyond Borders) stars in this drama as Nanà, a strong and independent woman, wonderful mother and loving wife, who manages to keep intact her ability to believe in love and miracles when her daughter ends up in a coma and is diagnosed with leukemia. Despite everything in her life changing suddenly and forever, Nanà continues forward, and with the help of a fearless doctor, raises doubts about the questionable working conditions in the local factory — where her husband works.

Christian: Season 2 (Italy)

Following on from the events in Season 1, Season 2 of this supernatural drama finds Christian (Edoardo Pesce, The Hunter) now using his miraculous healing powers to build the kingdom predicted by the Blond Man (Giulio Beranek, The Hunter). At the same time, Matteo (Claudio Santamaria, Casino Royale) is asked to take sides against his son’s savior. In fact, the Dark Woman (Laura Morante, The Son’s Room), a divine being determined to foil the Blond Man’s plans, has arrived at Matteo’s side.

Yussra El Abdouni (Snabba Cash, Caliphate) stars in this dark-humored, short-form, young adult horror drama as Angelina, a 17-year-old high school student who rebels against traditional female prejudice while maintaining her status as the queen bee. Like many other teens, she parties, smokes, and sleeps with boring guys to make time go by. But one thing definitely sets her apart from her contemporaries: Angelina is a serial killer.

The Accident (El Accidente) (Spain)

Inma Cuesta (The Mess You Leave Behind, Criminal: Spain, Arde Madrid) stars in this mystery thriller as Lucía, the wife of José (Quim Gutiérrez, Honeymoon with My Mother, The Neighbor) and the mother of their children. Soon after José leaves for a flight, the plane crashes, leaving no survivors and Lucía devastated. But José’s name isn’t on the passenger manifest or the list of the deceased, and his body is nowhere to be found. Wanted: Millionaire (Se busca millonario) (Spain)

This three-part docuseries reconstructs the real, unsolved case of a winning Lottery ticket, one worth 4.7 million euros but without an owner, that appeared in A Coruña in 2012. With more than 200 people presenting themselves as the rightful owner of the ticket and the prize money, an experienced National Police inspector investigated their stories and determine which of them would be a millionaire, while a veteran journalist dug deep to discover what was hidden behind the discovery of the winning ticket.

Domina: Season 2 (UK-IT)

The new season of this historical drama chronicles the struggle for control of the Roman Empire, and of Rome’s Imperial Family, from a rare female perspective. Livia (Kasia Smutniak, Devils) must fight to preserve her marriage to Gaius (Matthew McNulty, The Rising) and find a way to seat one of her sons on the throne, as new and old rivals jockey for position.

Backwoods Crime (Austria)

With stories set in different parts of Austria, this “ORF Landkrimi” anthology series of light crime dramas includes ten feature-length episodes, many of which feature mismatched detective duos. One story follows the investigation into the discovery of multiple body parts from the same victim by cop colleagues Franzi (Nina Proll, Look Who’s Back) and Michael (Karl Fischer, Donna Leon’s Commissario Brunetti Mysteries). In another, viewers know who the culprit is from the off — but not the twist in the case caused by investigator Nathan Weiss (Tobias Moretti, Inspector Rex, Bad Banks).

Corinne Masiero (The Last Panthers, The Churchmen) returns as the offbeat Captain Marleau in four new feature-length episodes of this fan-favorite mystery-crime dramedy series, in which the quirky cop investigates crimes, pieces together the truth, and solves murder mysteries in her own inimitable style.

Philosopher of the Sea (Havsfilosofen) (Sweden)

This documentary centers on Sven Yrvind, a Swedish sailor who, at the ripe age of 83, has become a renowned figure around the world for his solo voyages across the oceans. For the last five years, the filmmakers have had the privilege of observing closely as Yrvind puts together his boat and readies himself for the difficulty of being alone on the open sea — on a journey spanning almost 15,000 miles from Ireland to New Zealand, estimated to take 300 days. Although many view Yrvind’s project as a reckless venture, he himself believes that he is one of the few sane people in the world. However, the real exploration behind this journey is of a much deeper nature: an exploration into how we choose to live our lives.

Based on the novel by Zbigniew Nienacki, this action-adventure drama follows an art historian who, after finding an ancient Templar cross, joins forces with an unlikely group of adventurers on a quest to unlock the relic’s secrets.

Bird Box Barcelona (Spain)

Five years after the release of the Sandra Bullock-starring global phenomenon film Bird Box comes this Spanish spinoff which, like the first film, is based on Josh Malerman‘s novel Bird Box. In this sci-fi film, a mysterious force decimates the world’s population by causing all who see it to take their own lives. Now Sebastian (Mario Casas, The Innocent) and his young daughter, Anna (Alejandra Howard, Paraíso), must navigate their own journey of survival through the desolate streets of Barcelona. But as they form uneasy alliances with other survivors and try to escape the city to make their way toward a safe haven, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.

Makari: Sicilian Mysteries: Season 2 (Italy)

Based on the bestselling “Saverio Lamanna, Detective by Chance” series of mystery novels by Gaetano Savatteri, the new season of this light whodunit series opens a year after the events in Season 1, with former journalist Saverio Lamanna (Claudio Gioè, Mafia Only Kills in Summer, Anti-Mafia Squad) finding himself more of a resident amateur sleuth in his hometown of Makari, Sicily, than the novelist he aspires to be.

In the new season’s three feature-length episodes, Saverio, along with his long-time friend, Peppe (Domenico Centamore, Mafia Only Kills in Summer), delves into the deaths of an archaeologist, a journalist, and an architect — the latter of whom is known to Saverio by way of his lover, architecture student Suleima (Ester Pantano, Imma Tataranni). Black Sands (Svörtu sandar) (Iceland)

Aldís Amah Hamilton (Fractures, Katla, The Valhalla Murders) stars in this Nordic noir crime thriller as Anita, a troubled police officer who, after being forced to resign from her job in Reykjavik, returns to her hometown near Iceland’s famous black sands. After being away for more than a dozen years, she dreads seeing the locals again, not the least of which is her abusive mother, Elin (Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir, Stella Blómkvist, Trapped).

When the body of a young woman is found on the beach, Anita is called back to duty and works on what turns out to be her first case: the seemingly accidental death of a tourist, who, like many others, probably fell from the cliff while taking a photograph. At least that’s the conclusion of Ragnar (Þór Tulinius, The Valhalla Murders, Trapped), the police chief, and Salómon (Kolbeinn Arnbjörnsson, Case, The Lava Field), the local doctor. However, new developments point to death by misadventure as not being the cause of the woman’s death, but murder — and link this case to numerous others that went unsolved or where deaths were labeled as accidents. Then there’s another dead body and Anita’s discovery that a serial killer has been at work here, disguising murders as accidents for years…

In the third and final season of this crime thriller, titled La Unidad: Kabul, several agents of The Unit are on a mission in Afghanistan to meet with an infiltrator who has information about a possible attack in Europe. Enemy of the People (Kansan vihollinen) (Finland)

Kreeta Salminen (Man in Room 301, Deadwind) stars in this  crime drama as Katja Salonen, a journalist whose less-than-flattering article about local football legend Samuli Tolonen makes her the most hated person in town. Then Samuli is found dead in his swimming pool, which fuels the rumors of his suicide and the wrath of both the locals and Katja’s editors. As Katja conducts her own investigation into Samuli’s death, she risks her life and her career to find the truth — uncovering a web of corruption and failed business dealings while realizing that the people involved are willing to do anything to get her to stop.

Paradise (Germany)

Silent Assassin (Il Muto di Gallura) (Italy)

Based on a true story, this drama set in mid-19th century Sardinia follows the life of Bastiano Tansu (Andrea Arcangeli, Paradise), an abused and marginalized deaf-mute who, against all odds, becomes the most feared and dangerous assassin in the feud between the Vasa and Mamia families in Gallura. As the feud escalates, Bastiano’s fury and exceptional aim catch the attention of Pietro Vasa (Marco Bullitta, Valerio), one of the faction leaders, who recruits him as an assassin. Amidst the chaos, Bastiano finds solace in his love for a shepherd’s daughter, and for a moment it seems like he may have found inner peace. However, in a violent and superstitious world that has labeled Bastiano as a son of the devil since childhood, his fate becomes as tragic as the dozens of people he killed.

Moon Landing (Il grande passo) (Italy)

Giuseppe Battiston (The Prosecco Murders) stars in this comedy as Dario Cavalieri, an enigmatic and quick-tempered guy who has dreamed of going to the moon since he witnessed the moon landing as a child. Dario builds homemade rockets, and in constructing one, he inadvertently causes a fire, gets arrested for it, and calls his estranged brother, Mario (Stefano Fresi, Murders at Barlume), for help. So the empathetic and responsible Mario, a mild-mannered hardware store owner in Rome, sets off for Polesine, the small village where Dario lives.

As the brothers reunite, their contrasting personalities and ideologies clash. Mario, a steadfast believer in following the rules, finds himself tested at every turn by Dario’s rebellious spirit and relentless pursuit of his lunar ambitions. Yet amidst the turmoil, they slowly begin to forge a connection, digging deep into their shared pain of paternal abandonment and the void left by their absent father.

Rivers of Fire (La promesse du feu) (France)

Adapted from the novel La promesse du feu by Mikaël Ollivier, this mystery-crime drama miniseries opens with a devastating wildfire, within which a charred corpse is found at the wheel of a burned-out 4×4. The discovery forces two rivaling brothers and law enforcement officers — gendarme Damien (Nicolas Gob, Chefs) and policeman Guillaume (Thomas Jouannet, Nina) — to set aside their differences and work together to uncover the secrets hidden amidst the ashes.

Their investigation leads them to Tiffany (Flore Bonaventura, Magellan), a young and acclaimed photographer obsessed with fire, who was rescued by Târiq Amraoui (Salim Kechiouche, Blue Is the Warmest Color), a Canadian water-bomber pilot with a shady past. She doesn’t remember what happened during the fire, even though she captured images of it. Soon thereafter, Guillaume also investigates a man’s drowning, a death that is followed by more corpses over the next few days. The cases seem related and the two brothers must collaborate if they are to solve the crimes.

Miss Friman’s War: Season 1 (Fröken Frimans krig) (Sweden)

Returning to streaming is this historical drama, which stars Sissela Kyle (The Simple Heist) as Dagmar Friman, a headstrong woman whose newfound commitment to being a suffragette prompts her to fight against the injustices around her, male society in general and food fraud in particular, by opening a co-op grocery store for women, run by women.

The ensemble cast includes Frida Hallgren (The Inspector and the Sea), Maria Kulle (The Bridge), Lena T. Hansson (Beck), Ulla Skoog (Welcome to Sweden), Sofia Rönnegård (Before We Die), and Sofia Ledarp (Gåsmamman), amongst others.

Agatha Christie’s Hjerson — English-Dubbed Version (Sweden)

Johan Rheborg (Partisan) and Hanna Alström (The Sandhamn Murders) star in this first-ever adaptation based on a fictional character created by a fictional character — that is, a real-life TV series about Scandinavian detective Sven Hjerson, a character created by detective fiction author Ariadne Oliver, a character created by the Queen of Mystery, Agatha Christie.

Sven Hjerson (Johan Rheborg) is a once-renowned criminal profiler who suddenly chose to retire from the spotlight — and, as far as trash TV producer Klara Sandberg (Hanna Alström) is concerned, her ticket to a better career. Her idea: Get Hjerson to star in a true-crime show. No matter that she doesn’t know him; she tracks him down and even gets on the same ferry when he’s forced to return to his hometown in the Åland Islands following his mother’s death. It’s on the ferry that the two meet — and become a whodunit-solving duo after a young journalist is murdered.

R.M.N. (Romania)

Written and directed by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days), this drama follows Matthias (Marin Grigore, Legacy), who returns to his rural Romanian hometown after an incident with his job in Germany, hoping to reconnect with his young son and estranged wife. But the town seems to have changed in his absence, with distrust, economic resentment, and perhaps something more lurking just below the surface. When a group of foreign workers is hired at a small, local factory, the tenuous peace of the community is disturbed, and frustrations, conflicts, and passions erupt.
