Nineteen new Euro TV shows, seasons, and movies premiere in the US in April, along with four series making their linear TV debuts and another being added to a streaming service.

David Batra: Elefanten I Rummet (Sweden)
Swedish stand-up comedian David Batra gets personal as he playfully details the perks and pitfalls of being married to a recently-resigned political leader.

Money Heist: Part 4 (La casa de papel) (Spain)
Ay, Dios mio! The fourth installment of the series about the heist of the century in Spain sees lives on the line as the Professor’s plan begins to unravel and the thieves are forced to fend off enemies from both inside and outside the Bank of Spain.
Starring Álvaro Morte (El secreto de Puente Viejo) as the Professor and Úrsula Corberó (The Embassy) as Tokyo, Money Heist: Part 4, a Netflix Original series, premieres globally on Friday, April 3, exclusively on Netflix.
Also premiering on the same date is Money Heist: The Phenomenon, a Netflix Film that takes a look at why and how Money Heist sparked a wave of enthusiasm around the world for a lovable group of thieves and their professor.
Seaside Hotel: Season 4 (Badehotellet) (Denmark)
Set in 1931, the fourth season of this hugely popular Danish period dramedy finds Mrs. Andersen (Bodil Jørgensen, Men & Chicken) putting Fie (Rosalinde Mynster, A Royal Affair) in charge of running the hotel’s daily operations. As the regulars and new guests descend on the hotel for another summer holiday, they and the staff experience personal dramas. Plus, there’s more than one crisis for the hotel.
Costarring Amalie Dollerup (Borgen), Lars Ranthe (Dicte), and Anne Louise Hassing (Lulu the Bankrobber’s Wife), Seaside Hotel: Season 4 premieres in the US on Friday, April 3, exclusively on the PBS Masterpiece Channel on Prime Video and the Walter Presents digital channels.
Discovering the Vatican Museums (Alla scoperta dei Musei Vaticani) (Italy)
This English-language documentary series takes viewers on a tour of one of the world’s most astounding art collections, and tells how these ancient and modern treasures came to be in the Vatican’s museum complex.

Notre-Dame de Paris: l’épreuve des siècles (Notre-Dame of Paris: The Test of Centuries) (France)
In this docu-drama, viewers are transported to the famed cathedral in Paris, France — from its beginnings in the 12th century, throughout its tumultuous history into modern times, including April 15, 2019, when the entire world watched as Notre-Dame de Paris, the most famous of all Gothic treasures, burned.

The Circle France (France)
In this French version of the social media competition series, players must flirt, befriend, and catfish others as themselves or as someone else in their quest to win the €100,000 prize.

The Cliff: Season 1 (Hamarinn) (Iceland)
This mystery drama follows Helgi (Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, The Lava Field), a detective sent from Reykjavik to a small rural community in Iceland to help local policewoman Inga (Dóra Jóhannsdóttir, Trapped) investigate a suspicious accident. Together they unravel a mystery that involves bizarre incidents and unexplained deaths, set against the backdrop of a controversial hydroelectric project.
Featuring Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir (Case), Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson (Stella Blómkvist), and Tinna Hrafnsdóttir (The Valhalla Murders), The Cliff: Season 1 premieres in the US on Friday, April 10, exclusively on the PBS Masterpiece Channel on Prime Video and the Walter Presents digital channels.
The Trial (Il Processo) (Italy)
This mystery-crime drama revolves around the legal case of the murder of 17-year-old Angelica. Public prosecutor Elena Guerra (Vittoria Puccini, Kiss Me Again), who has a link to the victim, is assigned the case. Opposing her is well-known attorney Ruggero Barone (Francesco Scianna, Mafia Only Kills in Summer), who sees this as a career-making case for himself after he is hired to defend Linda Monaco (Camilla Filippi, Full Disclosure), a wealthy woman accused of killing the girl but who claims she is innocent.

Aber Bergen: Season 1 (Norway)
Ellen Dorrit Petersen (Acquitted, Borderliner) and Odd-Magnus Williamson (Ragnarok, Nobel) lead the cast of this legal drama as Elea and Erik, two of Norway’s shrewdest defense attorneys. They’re partners at the company they built together and outside of work — until she kicks him out. As their unorthodox team of attorneys gets caught in positional warfare between these two souls who think they’ve stopped loving each other, Erik and Elea must balance their personal relationship with their professional partnership.

Fary: Hexagone: Season 2 (France)
French comedian Fary returns to the stage to unpack his complicated feelings on faith, social media influencers, beatboxing, and his native France.

Earth and Blood (La terre et le sang) (France)
Cannes Film Festival and César Awards winner Sami Bouajila (Days of Glory, The Witnesses) stars in this telefilm as Saïd, the decades-long manager of a sawmill in the Ardennes. He’s hired ex-cons and young offenders over the years, and things have gone smoothly. Until now. After one of his apprentices is forced by his brother into hiding a large amount of cocaine on the sawmill property, a violent gang comes looking for their stolen drugs.
Saïd gets that he’s dealing with a group of ruthless and relentless men. But while they might have the advantage of numbers, he knows the place like no one else. Going back and forth to protect his daughter, Sarah (Sofia Lesaffre, Les Misérables), Saïd turns the sawmill into a veritable entrenchment. As the corpses pile up, so too does the thirst for revenge rise higher.

Rising High (Betonrausch) (Germany)
Based on true events, this film charts the rise and fall of two real estate fraudsters in Germany, as they are caught in their own web of lies and deceit.

Balthazar: Series 2 (France)
Following on from the scene that closes Series 1 of this clever mystery-crime drama series, the new season finds the relationship between forensic pathologist Raphaël Balthazar (Tomer Sisley, The Heir Apparent: Largo Winch, Philharmonia) and Chief Inspector Hélène Bach (Hélène de Fougerolles, Murder in Strasbourg, Le secret d’Elise) moving up a notch.
Amid their personal intimacy and professional tensions, Bathazar and Hélène are put to the test even further when the investigation into the death of his wife, Lise, murdered 12 years ago, intensifies. They must find the killer and prevent more people from becoming victims. And because crime waits for no one, the police must also solve other mysteries, such as a murdered dog found atop the blanket of a (presumably) missing baby in the season opener.

Murder by the Lake: Season 2 (Die Toten vom Bodensee) (Germany)
Matthias Koeberlin (Charité, The Sinking of the Laconia) and Nora von Waldstätten (The Team, Altes Geld) return as German criminal investigator Micha Oberländer and his Austrian partner, Hannah Zeiler, in this mystery-crime drama series, in which the detective duo investigates cross-border crimes in the area around Lake Constance, which borders Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Amongst their cases in the new season are a man found bound and quite dead in a forest by Lake Constance, and the discovery of a mermaid found lifeless in shallow water.

Sanctuary (Himmelsdalen) (Sweden)
Based on the novel The Devil’s Sanctuary by Marie Hermanson, this psychological thriller stars Josefin Asplund (Conspiracy of Silence, Vikings, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) in a dual role as Siri and Helena, identical twins who’ve always had a complex relationship. When Siri invites Helena to visit her at an exclusive residential sanatorium in the Alps, Helena is reluctant but goes anyway, figuring it will be a nice vacation. It isn’t.
After Helena refuses to swap places with her twin so the latter can take care of some business, she wakes to find Siri gone. Not only does Helena realize that Siri isn’t coming back, she discovers the clinic isn’t a place for recovery but a facility for studying psychopaths. Now trapped in a waking nightmare with everyone believing she’s Siri, Helena must first survive, then escape.
Costars include Matthew Modine (Stranger Things, And the Band Played On), Will Mellor (Broadchurch), Agnieszka Grochowska (Child 44), Philip Arditti (The Danish Girl), Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco Polo), Richard Brake (Game of Thrones), and Barbara Marten (Riviera).
The English-language Sanctuary premieres in the US and Canada on Thursday, April 23, exclusively on Sundance Now and its digital channels, including Sundance Now on Amazon.
Floodland (Grenslanders) (Netherlands-Belgium)
This crime thriller opens with an African girl found wandering around on the Flemish side of the remote border region between Flanders and the Netherlands. Belgian court psychiatrist Bert Dewulf (Koen De Bouw, Professor T.) is brought in from Antwerp to find out what happened to the traumatized girl, while elsewhere in the region, Dutch detective Tara Dessel (Jasmine Sendar, Malaika) from Rotterdam investigates a bloody shootout on a yacht.
As it turns out, the two cases are connected. When Tara and Bert begin to collaborate on the case, they discover that Floodlanders have many secrets and traditions, including centuries-old ways of handling outsiders.
The series features Wim Willaert (The Tunnel), Monic Hendrickx (Black Widow), Anne-Laure Vandeputte (Thieves of the Wood), Robin Boissevain (Ares), Herwig Ilegems (Professor T.), Fedja van Huêt (The Adulterer), and Tiny Bertels (Hotel Beau Séjour).

The Running Mate (Ireland)
The winner of the 2008 IFTA Best Single Drama/Drama Serial award, this political drama set in Kerry, Ireland, follows Vincent Flynn (Dennis Conway, Blood, Quirke, Single-Handed), a member of Fianna Fáil who decides to run in the general election as an independent candidate. When his campaign doesn’t go according to plan, he forms an alliance with an unlikely partner.

Summertime (Italy)
Inspired by Federico Moccia‘s novel Tre metri sopra il cielo, this drama series set on the Adriatic coast follows Summer (newcomer Rebecca Coco Edogamhe) and Alessandro (Ludovico Tersigni, SKAM Italy). The independent and responsible Summer dreams of leaving her small town to see the world, but feels she is the glue of her family and so stays. The rebellious Ale is a former motorcycle champion who is determined to break with the past and to start a new chapter in his life. The two come from different worlds, but the love that blossoms between them is one that grows strong under the summer sun and beach umbrellas, and changes forever what they believed they were before they met.

Anatomy of a Murder: Season 3 (Zivé terce) (Czech Republic)
In the third season of this mystery-crime drama series, Major Marie Výrová (Klára Melíšková, The Invisibles) and her team have a new case to solve: the murder of a man shot with a crossbow. It turns out the victim was a member of an archery club, as are several of his friends whom the police believe are potential targets, especially after they learn about the connection between the men. Now their investigation is a race against the clock, as the killer puts even more psychological pressure on those who have survived… so far.

Chernobyl: Aftermath (Chyornyy tsvetok) (Ukraine)
Created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, this drama follows the story of the nuclear tragedy from the perspective of a romance. Months before the fateful accident, Lera is transferred to Prypyat to teach at the local school. Upon her arrival, young lieutenant Igor aims to win her heart, but she falls in love with nuclear engineer Vitas. The events of April 26, 1986, will irrevocably change all their lives forever.
Chernobyl: Aftermath has its linear TV debut on Wednesday, April 22, at 9 PM ET, on Eurochannel.
Heart to Heart (Chelovek bez serdtsa) (Ukraine-Russia)
In this four-part drama, young and beautiful Yevenia has a wonderful career, a house in the posh part of town, and the man of her dreams, who’s just proposed to her. But when a boy, Leo, knocks at her door and reveals himself to be her son, Yevenia’s world turns upside down and her perfect life crumbles. What’s worse is Leo has a weak heart and needs an urgent transplant, lest he die in a matter of months. The question is whether Yevenia will help him.
Heart to Heart has its linear TV debut on Thursday, April 23, at 9 PM ET, on Eurochannel.
The Fury: Season 2 (Rapl) (Czech Republic)
Hynek Cermák (Circus Bukowsky) returns as Detective Kuneš in the new season of this dark, gritty crime drama. After Kuneš was sent to work on the borderlands of the Czech Republic as a disciplinary measure in Season 1, Season 2 finds him temporarily off the police force and working as a private detective. When his former boss, Colonel Rohan (Alexej Pysko, Gangster Ka), is reassigned to a different town and a wave of crimes hits the region, the Colonel asks Kuneš to join his anti-crime unit in Usti.
There Kuneš will not only fight the mafia and infiltrate a neo-Nazi group, but also solve cases of corruption among the police ranks and within Czech politics.
Featuring Lukás Príkazský (The Invisibles), Tomás Jerábek (Doktor Martin), Lucie Zácková (Wings of Steel), Cyril Drozda (Most!), and Aneta Krejcíková (Ulice), The Fury: Season 2 has its linear TV debut on Monday, April 27, at 9 PM ET, on Eurochannel.

The Kepler(s) (France)
Marc Lavoine (Crossing Lines) stars in this mystery-crime thriller as Samuel Kepler, a cop who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. After one of his personalities causes a police operation in Calais to end in tragedy, Kepler is placed on leave. But when the body of a girl is found in macabre circumstances, he is forced to investigate the killing alongside local cop Alice Haddad (Sofia Essaïdi, Murder in Auvergne).
Costarring Isabelle Renauld (Braquo), Serge Riaboukine (La Mante), and Élodie Navarre (The Bureau), The Kepler(s) begins streaming Friday, April 17, on the PBS Masterpiece Channel on Prime Video and the Walter Presents digital channels.
