Canneseries, the Cannes International Series Festival, has announced the ten international television series selected for its first-ever competition, of which five are Euro TV shows.

Here’s a weekend binge-watch for you: Morocco: Love in Times of War, a series from Spain that I marathon-watched over two evenings.

KCET is bringing Grand Hotel, dubbed the Spanish Downton Abbey, to broadcast telly. And it’s doing this in a way that Netflix didn’t with streaming the series.

Some of the best international TV shows on the planet premiered in the US and UK last year, and the ones I thought were fabulous are numerous.

This October we have one Friday the 13th, an untold number of Oktoberfest celebrations and Halloween parties, and seventeen (17!) premieres of new and returning series.

The list of Euro TV shows making their way to the US continues to grow, so get your binge on this month with these nine program premieres from Belgium, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.

It’s a big week in Euro TV premieres for stateside fans, including a prequel series of sorts to a mystery drama from Sweden, the second season of a hit crime drama from Italy, and a new period drama from Spain.

Netflix is on a roll with its international programs under the Netflix Original banner, including Euro TV series that are premiering in the next two to eight weeks.
