Netflix has set the global premiere date for Ad Vitam, a new action thriller film from France. Check out the trailer.
There are times when French actor Guillaume Canet (Out of Season, La belle époque, Tell No One) can bear a striking resemblance to American actor Patrick Dempsey. He does on multiple occasions in the new Latin-titled action thriller Ad Vitam (which translates as “to life”), for which he serves as co-writer (alongside Rodolphe Lauga, Rock’n Roll), producer, and executive producer as well as star.
Ad Vitam follows Franck Lazarev (Canet), a former member of the GIGN, the French Elite Intervention Squad, who, after escaping a murder attempt on his life, must find his very pregnant wife, Léo (Stéphane Caillard, Iskander, Marseille). She’s been kidnapped by a mysterious group of armed men who hold her hostage until they get what they want. Now caught up by his past in the GIGN, Franck is pulled into a state affair far beyond his control.
Ad Vitam, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Friday, January 10, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
The film co-stars Nassim Lyes (Under Paris, The Spy), and features Etienne Guillou-Kervern (The New Look), Zita Hanrot (La Maison), Johan Heldenbergh (Everybody Loves Diamonds), and Alexis Manenti (The Confidant).
