Opening four years after the Part 3 finale, Part 4 of this action-crime drama finds Assane Diop (Omar Sy, The Intouchables, French Lover) still in prison. For him, Lupin is no more; he wants to serve out his sentence and keep the promise he made to his son to go and meet their family in Senegal. But his plans are turned upside down by a mysterious announcement signed by Lupin: Multiple museums are to be hit with simultaneous heists. Firstborn (Il primo figlio) (Italy)
Set against the eerie isolation of a secluded villa, this psychological horror movie follows a couple, Ada (Benedetta Cimatti, Mussolini: Son of the Century) and Rino (Simone Liberati, Petra), as they prepare for the arrival of their second child, a boy they will name Lorenzo. Years earlier, they lost their first son, Andrea, in a tragic drowning accident. While Ada tries to maintain a sense of normality, her grief has never truly disappeared. The approaching birth forces those buried emotions to the surface, gradually exposing a fragile state of mind that becomes increasingly difficult for her to control.
As Ada’s pregnancy progresses, the boundaries between memory, fear, and reality begin to dissolve. She starts seeing disturbing apparitions of her deceased son and becomes convinced that Andrea has returned, suspecting that his spirit is threatened by the arrival of the new baby and may be trying to stop his younger brother from being born.
Firstborn has its US linear debut on Friday, October 30, at 9pm ET, on Eurochannel. (Folks who don’t have access to Eurochannel can stream the movie.)
Winning Ticket (Kaikki oikein) (Netherlands)
This romantic comedy follows beauty parlor worker Eevi (Elsa Saisio, Whiskey on the Rocks) and her husband, wannabe rocker Kari (Antti Luusuaniemi, Helsinki Syndrome), who must navigate the strange reality of becoming incredibly wealthy after Eevi wins 15 million euros with her lottery ticket. Rather than announcing their good fortune, they decide to hide it from their friends, family, and coworkers, and carry on with their lives on the outskirts of Helsinki as if nothing has changed. But maintaining the illusion of a normal life becomes much harder than either of them expected.
