Netflix has set the global premiere date for Burning Body (El cuerpo en llamas), a new crime drama series from Spain that is inspired by an actual incident.
Burning Body is a limited series inspired by a crime that happened in 2017 in Spain.
The lead cast includes Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist, Snatch, The Embassy) as Rosa and Quim Gutiérrez (Honeymoon with My Mother, The Neighbor, The Accident) as Albert, along with José Manuel Poga (Money Heist, Sky Rojo), Isak Férriz (Infiesto, Feria: The Darkest Light), and Eva Llorach (The Chalk Line, Elite), amongst others.
The limited series revolves around the discovery of the charred remains of a man found inside a burnt-out car at the Foix reservoir in Barcelona in May 2017. The victim was a police officer named Pedro (José Manuel Poga). News of the event quickly arouses the interest of the public, which is piqued even more when the investigation reveals a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence, and sexual scandals involving Pedro and two of his police colleagues: his partner Rosa (Úrsula Corberó) and her ex-boyfriend Albert (Quim Gutiérrez).
Burning Body, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, September 8, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Produced by Arcadia Motion Pictures for Netflix, the series is directed by Jorge Torregrossa (Intimacy, Cocaine Coast), who also serves as executive producer, and Laura Mañá (A Boyfriend for My Wife). It is written by Laura Sarmiento (Intimacy, Matadero).
