Created by BAFTA Awards winner Adam Price (Borgen, Ride Upon the Storm), Ragnarok is a terrific coming-of-age drama that is inspired by, builds on, and contributes to a new and surprising angle on Norse mythology (as well as the superhero theme).

The six-episode second season will pick up where the first season left off: The conflict between the Gods and the Giants gets tougher, evil gets more focused, and the choices become ever more desperate.

With high-schooler Magne having discovered his supernatural powers and learned about the ancient and powerful enemy that is holding the town of Edda in its grip, he must ready himself for battle. But his enemies are too many and too strong. Is there anyone else like him with supernatural powers who can and is willing to help him? If so, will he be able to find them in time? As it turns out, Magne’s younger brother, Laurits, has his own exceptional gifts; however, he views the world very differently from Magne.

The cast of Ragnarok includes David Stakston (Skam), Danu Suntharasigamany (To Nowhere), Jonas Strand Gravli (Wisting), Theresa Frostad Eggesbø (Skam), Herman Tømmeraas (Semester), Emma Bones (Home Ground), Henriette Steenstrup (Lilyhammer), Odd-Magnus Williamson (Aber Bergen), Synnøve Macody Lund (Aquitted), Bjørn Sundquist (Monster), and Gísli Örn Garðarsson (Cover Story). New cast members are Vebjørn Enger (Twin), Benjamin Helstad (Borderliner), Billie Barker (Apocalypse Norway), Jesper Malm (Rebecka Martinsson), and Espen Sigurdsen (Abnormal Attraction).

A project of SAM Productions, the new season of Ragnarok is written by Adam Price and Emilie Lebech Kaae (Pros and Cons) and will be directed by Mogens Hagedorn (Rita). Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen (Melancholia) is the executive producer and Stine Meldgaard Madsen (Something’s Rockin’) is the producer.

Season 2 of Ragnarok will premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2021.

Stay tuned for updates.
