Codename Hunter (Kodenavn Hunter)
This ensemble-cast Norwegian action crime drama follows a special team of multinational undercover operatives, who are brought together to take down a resourceful criminal network.
The series was a big winner with audiences in Norway, even beating out the highly popular Dirty Money, White Lies in the ratings. For folks who enjoy intense crime dramas such as the Swedish Arne Dahl, Codename Hunter is for you.
The first two episodes of Codename Hunter: Season 1, shown in Norwegian with English subtitles, are available for streaming at MHz Online through Wednesday, 17 June 2015.
Also from Norway is this action-packed, four-part miniseries that covers four days in the life of Terje Jonassen (Jørgen Langhelle, Varg Veum), a torpedo or fixer.
Collecting 400,000 kroner for a crime boss from an inveterate gambler was supposed to be a piece of cake, except it turns out to be anything but, no thanks to Terje’s unreliable sidekick. Then things take an even worse turn when his family is targeted, and Terje must go on the run to prove that he’s innocent of murder and protect his daughter. But trouble follows him…

Medicine Man (Medicinmannen)
Beck‘s Mikael Persbrandt stars in this Swedish thriller as pharmaceutical company CEO Martin Holst. His company has been doing trials for a new antidepressant medication, and the results are so promising that he fast-tracks the third phase. Thus ends the good news.
A group of animal activists has broken into one of the company’s facilities, where they released the animals, destroyed a lot of expensive equipment, and stole a canister of a key ingredient used to make the antidepressant. If industrial espionage weren’t bad enough, things gets worse. Martin’s son has been kidnapped.

Talisman (Talismanen)
This quirky Swedish drama follows Max Wallton (Per Graffman, When Darkness Falls), a cop turned former cop (after serving time for assaulting a suspect) turned private investigator (sort of), who’s hired by a wealthy government official to find and return the talisman the man’s wife took from their safe deposit box.
Thing is, the talisman is purportedly cursed, bringing fatal consequences to anyone who possesses it, other than its rightful owner. Until Max can get his mitts on it, dead bodies keep piling up.
Bonus: The series creators, authors Henning Mankell (“Wallender”) and Jan Guillou (“Cammander Hamilton”), appear in the eight-part Talisman as themselves.

The Legacy (Arvingerne)
This megahit Danish drama revolves around the four adult children of a renowned artist, who battle three against one for the family estate after the matriarch makes a near-death confession and bequeaths the estate to her youngest daughter, the only one in the family who didn’t know that the artist was her biological mother.
The cast includes several actors that should be familiar to Euro TV and film fans, including Trine Dyrholm (Someone You Love), Carsten Bjørnlund (Rita), Marie Bach Hansen (Borgen), Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (A Royal Affair), Jesper Christensen (Quantum of Solace), and Lene Maria Christensen (Dicte).
Shown in Danish with English subtitles, the first two episodes of The Legacy premiered in the US last night on MHz Worldview, and are available for streaming at MHz Online through Saturday, 21 June 2015. The remaining eight episodes will screen two at a time from tonight through Thursday evening on MHz Worldview, starting at 9 PM ET.
