Based on the novel 2007 novel The Dinner Club by Saskia Noort, and set in the present day, this new drama series revolves around a close-knit group of friends with seemingly perfect lives, a situation that turns out to be a web of secrets, lies, and distrust.

The story opens with Karen (Loes Haverkort, iHostage, Van der Valk) moving with her family to Bergen, where they are warmly welcomed into the dinner club, a seductive group of friends who fully indulge in an extravagant and hedonistic lifestyle. That is, until one of the luxurious villas goes up in flames, and their friend, Evert (Edwin Jonker, The Blood Pact, Baantjer), is killed, while his wife and children barely survive. Karen soon discovers that their close friendship is held together by lies. Everyone has something to hide, and nothing is what it seems. So Karen sets out in search of the truth…

The Perfect Lie, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Thursday, September 10, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
