Netflix announced today the global premiere date for Midsummer Night, the new Norwegian drama limited series from Per-Olav Sørensen.
Set against the backdrop of a midsummer party, Midsummer Night (Midtsommernatt) is a warm, emotional, and funny story that explores themes that everyone can identify with or relate to — from relationships, marriage, love and betrayal, to hopes, dreams, jealousy, forgiveness, and secret parallel lives. It is during the party that Carina and Johannes, who, after 30 years of marriage, choose to tell their family and friends a big secret that has unforeseen consequences.
The drama features a star-studded cast of Norwegian and Swedish acting talent, including Pernilla August (Young Royals, The Investigation), Dennis Storhøi (Troll, Home for Christmas), Amalia Holm (Delete Me, The Hunters), Sofia Tjelta (Delete Me, Rådebank), Linn Skåber (Best: Før, Good Night Darling), Kim Falck (The Architect, Troll), Christopher Wollter (Honour, Modus), Fanny Klefelt (Before We Die, Maria Wern), Peiman Azizpour (Furia), Maria Agwumaro (A Human Position), Eirik Hallert (Hvite gutter), Liv Osa (Mammon), and Kadir Talabani (A Star Is Born).

Created and directed by award-winning writer-director Per-Olav Sørensen (Home for Christmas, The Playlist, Quicksand), who also serves as the script writer along with Sofie Forsman (Barracuda Queens, Young Royals), Tove Forsman (Barracuda Queens, Young Royals), and Anna Fredrikke Bjerke (Gemini), the limited series is produced by Magnus Ramsdalen and Janne Hjeltnes for The Global Ensemble Drama.
