The Golden Hour, an action-crime thriller series from the Netherlands, is set to premiere in the US and other territories.
The Golden Hour (Het gouden uur) stars Nasrdin Dchar (Mocro Mafia, The Oldenheim 12) as Mardik Sardagh, a Dutch detective of Afghan descent who is distrusted by members of the AIVD, the intelligence and security agency of the Netherlands.
The day after Mardik gets a text message about his childhood friend, Faysal (Abbas Fasaei, The Covenant, Tehran), being in the Netherlands, a terrorist attack occurs in Amsterdam. Mardik must race against time during the “golden hour” — that crucial first hour following an incident — to find the perpetrators, suspecting all the while that Faysal was involved in the attack.
Written by Simon de Waal (Strike Force, Baantjer Mysteries) and directed by Bobby Boermans (Mocro Mafia, The Neighbors), the six-episode series costars Ellen Parren (The Blood Pact), Nabil Mallat (Into the Night), Yannick de Waal (The State), Mohammed Azaay (The Adulterer), Matteo van der Grijn (Women of the Night), and Peter Post (Amsterdam Undercover), amongst others.
Already streaming on Netflix is select territories, The Golden Hour premieres in others, including the US, on Friday, December 15. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
