The fan-favorite crime-fighting, mystery-solving duo of autistic criminal records archivist Astrid Nielsen (Sara Mortensen, Plus belle la vie) and neurotypical police detective Raphaëlle Coste (Lola Dewaere, Fear by the Lake) are returning in eight new episodes of the hit whodunit series Astrid.

In Season 3, Astrid and Raphaëlle tackle a new set of tricky investigations that involve: a mysterious death by lightning; the murder of a priest with stigmata; the discovery of the weapon used in a decades-old crime committed within a small Native American community from Canada; the suspicious death of a former murderer, found lifeless in his psychiatric hospital room; a 14-year-old autistic boy, the sole witness to the crime perpetrated against his mother within the Gare de l’Est railway station; the murder of a photographer, vampire-style; the discovery of a biologist’s corpse in a tropical greenhouse; and the murder of a homeless man — a crime that brings Astrid face to face with the criminal her father was tracking down when he was murdered.

Outside of work, Astrid is learning to navigate personal relationships as an autistic woman, as she tries to initiate one with neurotypical Tetsuo (Kengo Saito, Drops of God), and Raphaëlle begins to realize that her feelings toward Nicolas (Benoît Michel, Bright-Eyed Revenge) are changing — but is it too late?

Astrid: Season 3 premieres in the US and Canada on Friday, January 5, 2024, exclusively on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and the Walter Presents digital channels.
