Based on the novel ACAB by Carlo Bonini, as well as the film ACAB, A.C.A.B.: The Series is a new action-crime drama starring Marco Giallini (Rocco Schiavone), Adriano Giannini (Bang Bang Baby), Valentina Bellè (The Good Mothers), Pierluigi Gigante (Gomorrah), and Fabrizio Nardi (Suburra: Blood on Rome).

The six-episode series follows a night of ferocious clashes in Val di Susa. A team from the Mobile Unit of Rome loses their chief, who is seriously injured. But Mazinga (Giallini), Marta (Bellè), and Salvatore’s (Gigante) team isn’t like the others. It’s a team from Rome, which had to learn to contrast chaos and troubles with extreme methods, as well as with the harmony of a tribe, almost like a family. A family that the new commander, Michele (Giannini), part of the reformist police, will have to deal with.

For cops like Michele, teams like his new one symbolize an old way of policing that must be made over. As if the chaos that hits the new squad at this moment of maximum internal fragility wasn’t enough, there’s also a new wave of public discontent with institutions like the police.

Amongst rising tensions, the team members are called to take sides and forced to question the deeper meaning of their work and their own membership in the police department.

A production of Cattleya (Gomorrah, Suburra: Blood on Rome, ZeroZeroZero), part of ITV Studios, the series is created by Bonini and Filippo Gravino (Off Grid), and written by Gravino, Bonini, Elisa Dondi (The Law According to Lidia Poët), Luca Giordano (Il terzo tempo), and Bernardo Pellegrini (Thou Shalt Not Kill). It is directed by Michele Alhaique (Solo), and executive produced by Stefano Sollima (ACAB film).

Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date for A.C.A.B.: The Series yet; stay tuned for updates.
