Netflix has set the global premiere date for The Conference (Konferensen), a new comedy-horror thriller film from Sweden. Check out the trailer.

Swedish comedy slasher film The Conference looks like a scream! (Couldn’t resist.)

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Mats Strandberg, a prolific horror writer called “the Swedish Stephen King,” who serves as an executive producer on the film, The Conference revolves around a team-building conference attended by municipal employees. What was intended to be a fun, productive event spirals into a nightmare when accusations of corruption begin to circulate and plague the work environment — all while a mysterious masked figure begins stalking and murdering the participants one by one.

The Conference, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Friday, October 13, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

Leading the cast are Katia Winter (Agent Hamilton), Adam Lundgren (The Restaurant), and Eva Melander (Rebecka Martinsson). Costars include Bahar Pars (Black Lake), Maria Sid (All the Sins), Marie Agerhäll (Anxious People), Christoffer Nordenrot (Clark), Amed Bozan (Caliphate), Lola Zackow (Maria Wern), Claes Hartelius (Young Royals), Cecilia Nilsson (Spring Tide), Jimmy Lindström (The Unlikely Murderer), and Martin Lagos (Snabba Cash).

A production of of SF Studios (Loving Adults, Snabba Cash), the film is directed by Patrik Eklund (We Got This), written by Thomas Moldestad (Varg Veum), and produced by Ina Sohlberg (The Lawyer).
