Halloween comes early, sort of. Shudder released today the English-subtitled trailer for Nightmare, a Norwegian horror thriller film. Check it out.
Nightmare (Marerittet) revolves around a young couple in love. Robby (Herman Tømmeraas, Ragnarok, Semester) has just landed his dream job and is eager to start a family, despite the hesitation by his partner, Mona (Eili Harboe, Succession, The Architect). Never mind that, cuz they’ve scored an amazing deal on a spacious flat.
And never mind that the place is rundown and requires quite a bit of renovation… and that the neighbors are constantly fighting and have a screaming baby… and that Mona is suddenly plagued by night terrors, which grow more intense every time she falls asleep. Eventually, Mona’s issues spiral dangerously out of control as she becomes convinced that she is being attacked by a mythical demon — the Mare — intent on possessing her unborn child.
Nightmare, a Shudder Original, has its streaming premiere in the US and Canada on Friday, September 29, exclusively on Shudder and the AMC+ streaming bundle, and their digital channels, including Shudder on Amazon and AMC+ on Amazon.
Written and directed by Kjersti Helen Raasmussen (The Tunnel, Varg Veum), Nightmare is produced by Einar Loftesnes (Aber Bergen) and John Einar Hagen (Narvik).
