For A Day and a Half, multi-award-winning actor Fares Fares (Chernobyl, Partisan, Department Q films) is both behind and in front of the camera, costarring alongside and directing Alexej Manvelov (Top Dog, Occupied, Before We Die) and Alma Pöysti (Tove, Liberty) in the drama thriller.

Said Fares Fares, who marks his directorial debut in A Day and a Half:

“I feel very proud of this film and I’m incredibly happy that the whole world will be able to see it soon!”

Inspired by true events, the story follows Artan (Alexej Manvelov), who, to reunite with his daughter, takes his ex-wife, Louise (Alma Pöysti), hostage and embarks on a thrilling and emotionally-charged road trip with her and police officer Lukas (Fares Fares). The journey takes them through rural Sweden during a hot summer — all while having police on their heels.
