Netflix announced today the global premiere date and new cast members for Season 2 of Swedish comedy-drama Love & Anarchy. Check out the teaser.
Multi-award winner David Dencik (The Chestnut Man, Chernobyl, Top of the Lake) and Marina Bouras (When the Dust Settles, Thin Ice, The Eagle) join the cast of Love & Anarchy (Kärlek & Anarki) for the show’s second season.
Following on from the events in Season 1, the new season sees a newly-divorced Sofie (Ida Engvoll, Bonus Family, The Restaurant, Rebecka Martinsson) trying to create a life for herself and Max (Björn Mosten). However, due to unforeseen events, she instead finds herself in the middle of a life crisis, which affects her relationship with Max in a huge way — and nothing turns out the way either of them had hoped.
At the same time, the small publishing house of Lund & Lagersted is caught between two worlds — doing its best to operate in the very traditional literary world while concurrently trying to navigate new opportunities available in today’s society. Needless to day, it doesn’t take long before conflicts crop up between the old and the new and between great art and financial realities.
And regarding their questions of what is right and wrong, what is normal and abnormal, and what is truly real — one has to wonder if they even matter, because in the midst of all their turmoil, these folks are simply trying to make sense of love, life, and themselves.
Love & Anarchy: Season 2 premieres globally on Thursday, June 16, exclusively on Netflix.
The Season 2 cast includes Gizem Erdogan (Caliphate), Carla Sehn (Anxious People), Reine Brynolfsson (Spring Tide), Björn Kjellman (30 Degrees in February), Lars Väringer (Alex), Johannes Kuhnke (The Rain), Ruben Lopez (Oskar, Oskar), Ludde Hagberg (Wallander), and Yasmine Garbi (Snabba Cash).
