Netflix has set the global premiere date for, and released a few first-look photos from, its new Swedish action thriller film Black Crab, starring Noomi Rapace.
Adapted from Jerker Virdborg‘s novel of the same name by Adam Berg (In, Tales from the Loop), who also directs the film, Black Crab stars BAFTA Film Awards nominee and multiple awards winner Noomi Rapace (Prometheus, Sherlock Holmes, What Happened to Monday) in the lead role.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by war, Black Crab follows six soldiers on a desperate mission to bring an end to the raging conflict which has destroyed their lives.
During a harsh, seemingly endless winter, six soldiers embark on a covert mission across a frozen archipelago, risking their lives to transport a mysterious package that could end the war. As they enter hostile enemy territory, they have no idea what dangers lie ahead or who, if anyone, they can trust. But for speed skater-turned-soldier Caroline Edh (Rapace), the mission is about something else entirely.
Costars include Jakob Oftebro (Agent Hamilton), Erik Enge (The Bridge), Dar Salim (Dicte), Ardalan Esmaili (Rebecka Martinsson), Aliette Opheim (Katla) and David Dencik (The Chestnut Man).
Black Crab, a Netflix Film, launches globally on Friday, March 18, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it on the film’s page at www.netflix.com/blackcrab.)
