Netflix has set the global premiere date for Squad 36, a new police thriller from France.
Set in present-day Paris, Squad 36 (Bastion 36) follows Antoine Cerda, a senior police officer with the prestigious Investigation and Intervention Brigade, which is led by the charismatic Sami Belkaïm. But when Cerda gets transferred to the Anti-Crime Brigade after being sanctioned by the General Inspectorate of the French National Police, he turns his back on Belkaïm and his former comrades.
Thirteen months later, two officers from his old squad have been killed in less than twenty-four hours. When a third goes missing under mysterious circumstances, Cerda decides to carry out his own investigation. His inquiries will reveal an intense police rivalry, putting him in the middle of a cop war and leading him on a terrible downward spiral.
Squad 36 premieres globally on Friday, February 28, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Based on the award-winning novel, Flic Requiem, by Michel Tourscher, and written and directed by Olivier Marchal (Blood Coast), the film’s cast includes Yvan Attal (Freedom, Ad Vitam [2018]), Victor Belmondo (Miskina, Poor Thing, Notre-Dame), Soufiane Guerrab (Lupin, The Wagner Method), and Tewfik Jallab (Blood Coast, Spiral).
