Already filming in various locations across Spain, including Lanzarote, Barcelona and Teruel, the new season of Welcome to Eden will see Carlos Torres (The Queen of Flow) and Nona Sobo (Wrong Side of the Tracks) joining the cast as yet-to-be-revealed new characters.

The first season of this Spanish thriller has ranked high on Netflix’s global Top 10 list for non-English TV series in dozens of territories, racking up 116,970,000 hours viewed since its premiere three weeks ago; as of May 25, it is in the Top 10 in 68 countries, including Spain, France, Germany, Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil.

Netflix didn’t release any details about the second season storyline, only that mystery and danger at the island will continue to grow.

For folks who aren’t familiar with the show, Welcome to Eden opens with young social media influencers being asked “Are you happy?’ and then invited to an exclusive party on a secret island — an “immersive experience” that will be the trip of their lives.

Except for several of them, the adventure turns out to be something quite different from what they had imagined — and not in a good way.

Returning for the second season are Amaia Aberasturi (45 rpm), Amaia Salamanca (Velvet), Berta Castañé (Under Suspicion), Guillermo Pfening (Foodie Love), Ana Mena (The Skin I Live In), Berta Vázquez (Locked Up), Belinda Peregrín (Baywatch), Sergio Momo (Elite), Lola Rodríguez (Veneno), Begoña Vargas (High Seas), Tomás Aguilera (SKAM España), Diego Garisa (The Revolution of Odile), Lucía Guerrero (El Cid), Carlos Soroa, Dariam Coco (Money Heist), and Irene Dev, amongst others.

The Season 2 episodes are written by series co-creators Joaquín Górriz (Desaparecidos) and Guillermo López (Atrapada), directed by Denis Rovira van Boekholt (The Boarding School: Las Cumbres) and Juanma Pachón (Heridas), and produced by Brutal Media.

Stay tuned for updates.
