Netflix has set the premiere date for Dudes, a new German comedy series based on the hit Spanish series, Alpha Males.

The success of Spanish comedy series Alpha Males has spawned local versions in other countries, including Shafted from France, Roosters from the Netherlands, and Real Men from Italy. Soon we’ll have Dudes (aka Alphamännchen) from Germany.
Playing the four Teutonic alpha males are Tom Beck (Einstein, You Are Wanted), Moritz Führmann (Charité, Tatort: Cologne), Serkan Kaya (Tatort, Inspector Rex), and David Rott (Vienna Blood, Money Murder Zurich).
Ulf (Beck), Andi (Führmann), Cem (Kaya), and Erik (Rott) are four friends in their mid-40s who realize that the world has moved on without them. No, they are no longer at the top of the food chain. Yes, yesterday’s alpha males are today’s charming relics. (Ouch.)
To wit: Ulf’s job is replaced by a younger woman. Cem learns about the nasty surprises of modern dating. Erik’s girlfriend suddenly wants to open up their relationship. And Andi gets pressured by his wife’s strong libido. The dudes see only one way out: a course to deconstruct male stereotypes. But applying what they have learned only makes things worse…
Dudes, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Thursday, October 2, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Costars include Mona Pirzad (The Last Word), Franziska Machens (Tatort: Streets of Berlin), Marleen Lohse (Our Miracle Years), Jaëla Probst (Sleeping Dog), and Valentina Leone (Rentnercops).
A production of Geißendörfer Pictures GmbH, the series is directed by Jan-Martin Scharf (Barbarians) and Tobi Baumann (Where’s Wanda?), and written by Arne Nolting (Barbarians), Jan-Martin Scharf (Barbarians), Tanja Bubbel (Charité), and Fabienne Hurst (King of Stonks). The executive producers are Hana Geißendörfer, Jan-Martin Scharf, and Arne Nolting.
