NATIONAL PREMIERES
Freedom (Libre) (France)
This late ’70s/’80s-set biopic drama thriller is inspired by the true story of Bruno Sulak (Lucas Bravo, Emily in Paris, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), a charismatic criminal nicknamed the “Arsène Lupin of jewelry stores” (Lupin being the gentleman thief character created by author Maurice Leblanc), owing to his non-violent robberies of multiple bijouteries. A flamboyant robber, loyal friend, and icon of freedom, Sulak was actively sought by George Moréas (Yvan Attal, Captain Marleau), a tough, perceptive, and nonconformist police commissioner, and managed to escape from prison several times and find his lover, Annie (Léa Luce Busato, Alex Hugo), becoming France’s Public Enemy #1 in the 1980s.
Freedom, an Amazon Original, premieres globally on Friday, November 1, exclusively on Prime Video.

Hostage (Kapningen) (Sweden)
Adapted from Fredrika Bergman’s novel Hostage, the fourth title in her “Fredrika Bergman” thrillers, this show is a follow-up to the mystery-crime drama series Sthlm Requiem, also based on “Fredrika Bergman” books. In Hostage, a Nordic Airlines flight from Stockholm to San Francisco is hijacked by remote control. The hijackers demand that a professor from Lebanon, who is in custody in Stockholm, be released, or else they will blow up the plane. They also demand that secret documents relating to an operation be made public.
Teaming up once again are criminologist Fredrika Bergman (Liv Mjönes, The Lawyer, Modus) and investigator Alex Recht (Beck, Riding in Darkness), who must identify the hijackers before the plane is downed, either by the hijackers making good on their threat or the US military shooting it out of the sky. As a conspiracy unfolds, Fredrika begins to suspect the truth is closer than it appears.

Lucie Henebelle (Jennifer Decker, Les petits meurtres d’Agatha Christie) begin to cry tears of blood and shoot her patrol partner. The case is assigned to washed-up Captain Franck Sharko (Vincent Elbaz, No Limit), a legendary homicide detective who is brilliant and unstable in equal measure. His wife and daughter died in a terrorist attack, and he is haunted by the ghosts of his past.
Sharko has Lucie transferred to his crime squad. The investigation leads them to probe the medical files that Dr. Elizabeth Moreau (Dominique Blanc, The Origin of Evil) kept in her safe, and they discover a movie called “Syndrome E,” in which several young girls in an insane frenzy are crying tears of blood, like Lucie. Now, their suspicions are focused on the Moreau Family Foundation, which specializes in state-of-the-art neuroscience research. As Lucie is affected more and more by the mysterious Syndrome E, the attraction between her and Sharko, who sees her distress, grows.
Soon the body count rises again. And when Lucie takes an MRI test to try and figure out what happened to her, the results only create more questions. What does any of this have to do with the sinister figures in Casablanca, who are kidnapping kids with a white van that has an eye painted on the side? In Paris, Sharko tries to track down Walid (Ilian Kaddour-Drizi), the little Moroccan “lab rat” who’s been brought to France for a mysterious “final experiment.” Meanwhile, Lucie meets a mysterious Canadian person online and flies to Montreal, where, in the city archives, she finally traces the young girls in the old movie. Then Sharko gets kidnapped, finding himself in a locked room, surrounded by young human guinea pigs. He’s about to play a key role in the “final experiment”…

900 Days without Anabel (900 días sin Anabel) (Spain)

The three-part program recounts what happened during the nearly-three years that she was held captive and all of Spain was held in suspense, taking to the streets to ask for her release while waiting for her rescue.
Between 1993 and 1995, fourteen phone calls occurred between the kidnappers and the negotiator representing the Segura family to release Anabel. Those conversations are coming to light in their entirety for the first time now, through the unpublished original tapes recorded by the police agents, thirty years after the resolution of the case.

El Circo de los Muchachos (Spain)
This five-episode docuseries tells the incredible story of Father Jesús Silva, who created from nothing the City of Benposta in the outskirts of Ourense, Galicia, in 1956 in Francoist Spain. An educational project for underprivileged children, Benposta was like a nation within a nation, governed by the children, with its own currency, passports, and customs. It had the approval of both the Franco dictatorship and the Church, and, interestingly, had democratic processes to elect Benposta’s mayors.
Over time, Benposta became a city steeped in art, education, and excitement, and Silva founded “El Circo de los Muchachos,” a fascinating show that took these underprivileged children around the world, impressing audiences with their circus skills, even filling New York’s Madison Square Garden.
El Circo de los Muchachos premieres globally on Friday, November 22, exclusively on Prime Video.

On an early September morning in 2009, eyes from around the world turn to an inconspicuous Stockholm suburb, where a helicopter has landed on the roof of the country’s safest cash depot. Except it isn’t, because the police can only watch as the robbers disappear, taking with them several million dollars. Even more surprising (at least these days): not a single shot is fired.
Starring in the eight-episode series are Mahmut Suvakci (Deliver Me, Top Dog), Ardalan Esmaili (Snabba Cash, Rebecka Martinsson), and Iskra Kostic (Riding in Darkness, The Restaurant), along with Dejan Milacic, Erik Svedberg-Zelman (Toppen), Vic Carmen Sonne (The Kingdom), Johanna Hedberg (First Responders), and Wim Elfwencrona.

The Killers Next Door (Manželé Stodolovi) (Czech Republic)
Based on actual events, this true-crime drama thriller follows Jaroslav (Jan Hájek, Audacity) and Dana Stodolova (Lucie Zácková, The Prague Mysteries), an ordinary married couple whose desperation to escape their mundane lives quickly spirals into manipulation, greed, and violence, as they embark on a gruesome murder spree.
The story kicks off when Jaroslav accidentally kills an elderly neighbor during a failed robbery attempt. Instead of fleeing or turning themselves in, Dana hatches a sinister plan to cover up the murder and disguise it as an accident. But this is only the beginning. Dana, who soon becomes intoxicated by the thrill of evading the law, convinces Jaroslav to continue targeting vulnerable seniors in their isolated community. With each new victim, the Stodolas dig themselves deeper into a horrifying cycle of crime, concealing their killings behind a veil of supposed accidents and suicides.
The Killers Next Door has its US linear debut on Friday, November 29, at 9pm ET, on Eurochannel.
