French drama series L’Opera will have its US linear TV debut on select public TV stations.
Set within the world of the internationally-renowned Paris Opera, this drama follows three people with something to prove.
One is Zoé (Ariane Labed, Ad Vitam), a 35-year-old principal dancer whose excesses — too many parties, lovers, anxieties, and injuries — have put the aging prima ballerina off her game and put her in danger of being let go from the company. Zoé will have to come to terms with the institution, her peers, and her own demons if she wants to earn herself a second chance.
Another is Flora (Suzy Bemba, Kandisha), an ambitious 19-year-old Black dancer who, having just joined the company, has only a few months to carve out a place for herself and prove her mettle.
And then there’s the flamboyant Sébastien (Raphaël Personnaz, Marius), the 38-year-old new Director of Dance, who is under pressure to revive the Paris Opera Ballet and maintain their reputation in the international dance world.
The eight-episode first season of L’Opera will have its US linear TV debut starting on or after Friday, December 1, on the following public TV stations and state/regional networks: Idaho Public Television, KCET, KLRU, KWSU, Maryland Public Television, Oregon Public Broadcasting, WETA, and WGBH. (Contact the station that serves your area to request the program.)
