There are monsters this time, both the literal and figurative kind.

One of them is played by Oscar® nominee Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man, Billions, John Adams), who joins the cast as Christian Barbrow, an American tech and business billionaire, science guru, writer of sci-fi novels, and head of a mysterious “Brotherhood” that counts amongst its members the world’s elite. He is the ultimate disruptor, but nobody knows his true intentions.

Giamatti joins returning cast members Eduard Fernández (Criminal: Spain, The Zone), Megan Montaner (If Only, Love, Inevitably), Miguel Ángel Silvestre (Sky Rojo, Velvet), Macarena Gómez (Holy Family, Shrew’s Nest), Pepón Nieto (Boundless, I Know Who You Are), Cósimo Fusco (1993, Angels & Demons), Manolo Solo (The Zone, The Legacy of the Bones), Nuria González (Dangerous Moms, Killing the Father), Javier Bódalo (The Longest Night, One Way or Another), and Manuel Tallafé (Wrong Side of the Tracks, Drug Squad: Costa del Sol). Also joining the Season 2 cast is Najwa Nimri (Money Heist, Locked Up).

Season 2 follows on from the the events in Season 1: Most residents of Pedraza, a remote town in Spain plagued by inexplicable, demonic events, have lost their minds and are confined to a psychiatric hospital. Elena (Megan Montaner) lies comatose in a Madrid hospital bed; Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre), shattered by remorse, tries to take care of her. As horror intensifies around them, our group of heroes must face a mysterious new enemy (Paul Giamatti) — someone so perverse that even the devil fears him.

30 Coins: Season 2, an HBO Original drama series, will premiere on linear HBO this October (date tba), with streaming available on HBO Max.
