Whoa. Based on the trailer alone, I am so gonna watch Troll. Netflix dropped the official one for it today. Check it out.
The troll in Troll — it kinda reminds me of Godzilla, except it’s Norwegian instead of Japanese, and definitely not a nuclear-radiated prehistoric creature of the sea.
It is a gigantic monster, one that awakens deep inside the mountain of Dovre, where it has been trapped for a thousand years. Folks thought trolls only existed in Norwegian folklore. Hah! No, this one is real. And now that it is conscious (and apparently quite unhappy), it is destroying everything in its path — and it is fast approaching Norway’s capital of Oslo…
Leading the cast of this epic Norwegian action-adventure fantasy film are Ine Marie Wilmann (Furia, Exit, Bloodride) as Nora; Kim Falck-Jørgensen (Ammo, Hva Hvis?, Good Night Darling) as Andreas, the advisor to the prime minister; Mads Sjøgård Pettersen (Wisting, State of Happiness, Home for Christmas) as Kristoffer, a captain in the Norwegian army; and Gard Eidsvold (Witch Hunt, Wisting, Aber Bergen) as Nora’s father, Tobias, a former professor in folklore research.
Written by Espen Aukan (The Games), Troll is directed by the award-winning Roar Uthaug (Tomb Raider, The Wave) and produced by Espen Horn (Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes) and Kristian Strand Sinkerud (Mammon) at Motion Blur.
Troll, a Netflix Film premieres globally on Thursday, December 1, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it at www.netflix.com/troll.)
