Filming has started in Barcelona on El cuerpo en llamas, a new Netflix limited series inspired by a true crime that happened five years ago in Spain.
El cuerpo en llamas (literal translation: the body on fire / the body in flames) stars Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist, The Embassy) and Quim Gutiérrez (Mother’s Love, The Neighbor) in the lead roles, with José Manuel Poga (Sky Rojo), Isak Férriz (Feria: The Darkest Light), and Eva Llorach (Elite), amongst others, completing the cast.
The four-episode limited series centers on the discovery of the charred remains of a man found inside a burnt-out car at the Foix reservoir in Barcelona in May 2017. It turns out the deceased was a cop named Pedro (José Manuel Poga). With the public’s interest properly piqued, the investigation into the homicide continues — ultimately revealing a network of toxic relationships, deceit, violence, and sexual scandals involving Pedro and two of his fellow police officers: his partner Rosa (Úrsula Corberó) and her ex-boyfriend, Albert (Quim Gutiérrez).
Produced by Arcadia Motion Pictures for Netflix, El cuerpo en llamas is directed by Jorge Torregrossa (Intimacy, Cocaine Coast), who also serves as executive producer, and Laura Mañá (A Boyfriend for My Wife). It is written by Laura Sarmiento (Intimacy, Matadero).
Stay tuned for updates.
