Netflix’s new Turkish thriller series, As the Crow Flies, premieres globally next week. Check out the trailer.
Written by Meric Acemi (Love 101), As the Crow Flies (Kus uçusu) is about the clash between Gen X, those in decision-making positions in the corporate world, and Gen Z, a generation of young adults that is rising up. While Gen Xers are trying to keep up with social media, new ways of business, and the new world order overall, they aren’t aware of the bigger picture: the gap and the differences between them and Gen Zers are large.
It is against this backdrop that the story of As the Crow Flies is told.
The eight-episode drama follows Asli Tuna (Miray Daner, The Protector), a young fan of Lale Kiran (Birce Akalay, The Choice), a seasoned news program presenter. The ambitious Asli maneuvers her way into Lale’s newsroom, but instead of climbing her way to the top by earning it through hard work, she opts for a different strategy, one through which she intends to fly into the upper ranks and be one of the most important people at the conference table much sooner.
In so doing, Asli soon confronts the dark side of ambition, envy, and the desire to be seen — while Lale watches her glitzy life unravel, both at work and in her marriage.
Also featuring in the series are Ibrahim Çelikkol (Intersection), Irem Sak (Çukur), and Defne Kayalar (Ethos).
As the Crow Flies, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, June 3, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
