Viaplay, the premium Nordic streaming service from NENT Group, is now live in the US.
Fellow fans of Nordic noir telly, Euro TV, and European films — we have a brand-spanking new premium streaming service to add to our lists of content providers (or at the very least consider adding, more on this below). It is Viaplay, which officially launched in the US today.
And what a launch it is — with 71 series and 75 feature and documentary films. Euro TV enthusiasts will be familiar with a number of the titles, as they made their US premieres on other platforms. A few have since dropped off of those streaming services and are now available only on Viaplay, while others can be accessed on two or more channels, including Viaplay. Everything else is exclusive to Viaplay US.

Altogether that’s more than 1,100 hours of content in the drama, thriller, mystery-crime drama, comedy, comedy-drama, and documentary genres for stateside viewers on Viaplay right now. And more titles are coming, including at least one premiere every week.
Viaplay is currently available as an add-on subscription on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 internet/TV service and the Xfinity Flex OTT internet TV service. The subscription costs $4.99 per month after the seven-day free trial.
While folks without Comcast Xfinity X1/Flex can’t sign up for Viaplay at the moment, know that a direct-to-consumer Viaplay app for the US is in the works. Stay tuned for details about its launch.
