Netflix announced today the cast for Dirty Lines, its new Dutch-language Original series from the Netherlands.
The main cast of Dirty Lines includes Joy Delima (Flikken Rotterdam), Minne Koole (Sinterklaasjournaal), Chris Peters (Black Widow), Charlie Chan Dagelet (Hotel Beau Séjour), Abbey Hoes (The Neighbors), and Benja Bruijning (The Schouwendam 12).
Also featuring in the series are Julia Akkermans (Women of the Night), Yari van der Linden (Papadag), Joes Brauers (The East), André Dongelmans (The Dinner), Ayla Çekin Satijn, Laura Bakker (Nieuw Zeer), Pip Lieke Lucas, Casper Nusselder (Commandos), Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld (Framed), and Eric van Sauers (The Blood Pact).
The six-episode drama opens in 1987 Amsterdam, at a time when Dutch society was changing rapidly. Psychology student Marly Salomon (Joy Delima) takes on a side job working for Teledutch, a brand new company started by brothers Frank (Minne Koole) and Ramon Stigter (Chris Peters), who established Europe’s first erotic telephone lines. Frank and Ramon become rich overnight, and Marly finds herself immersed in this wild and rapid transformation.
While the final years of the Cold War sparked a sense of hope, it also inspired a new generation to celebrate life to its fullest. Amsterdam became the center of this cultural revolution with a radically new form of music known as house and the new “love drug” XTC. The erotic phone lines offered the opportunity to experience anonymous sex in a new way, changing the morality of its consumers, but also the people who created it.
A production of Fiction Valley, Dirty Lines is created by Pieter Bart Korthuis (Black Widow), who also directs alongside Tomas Kaan (The Godless) and Anna van der Heide (Small Hands in a Big War).
Dirty Lines will launch globally on Netflix in 2022. You can set a reminder for it now at www.netflix.com/dirtylines.
Stay tuned for updates.
