Acorn TV has set the premiere date for Danish psychological crime thriller Blinded – Those Who Kill, the follow-up season to the dark and gritty Darkness – Those Who Kill.
In Blinded – Those Who Kill, the second season of the reboot of Those Who Kill, Natalie Madueño (Follow the Money, The Rain, Warrior) reprises her role from Darkness – Those Who Kill (Den som dræber – Fanget af mørket) as Louise Bergstein, a Copenhagen-based criminal profiler and expert in serial killers.
The new season finds Louise putting her skills to use for someone close to home: Alice (Solbjørg Højfeldt, Ride Upon the Storm, The Killing), a close friend of Louise’s late mother. Five years ago on the island of Funen, three young men were killed under similar, horrific circumstances within a few months of each other. One of them was 18-year-old Markus, Alice’s son. The killer was never found; the case was never solved. Now Alice, recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, wants Louise to help find her son’s killer before she dies.
Without hesitation, Louise throws herself into the cold case and initiates an investigation with the police. Then another young man is found murdered in a manner similar to the first three victims, forcing Louise and Karina Hørup (Helle Fagralid, Below the Surface, 1864), the police chief in Odense, into a race against the clock to find the killer before there is another victim.
For her part, Louise discovers a distinct pattern in the murders. However, she overlooks that the killer, who is far more intelligent and cynical than she realizes, is hiding in plain sight — and that the two of them may have connections to each other…
Costars in the eight-episode thriller include Tobias Santelmann (Atlantic Crossing, Acquitted), Kasper Leisner (Follow the Money), Jens Andersen (The Legacy), Josephine Park (The Investigation), and Peder Thomas Pedersen (The Sommerdahl Murders).
Blinded – Those Who Kill premieres in the US in its entirety on Monday, May 10, exclusively on Acorn TV and its digital channels, including Acorn TV on Amazon Channels.
