Netflix has dropped the trailer for its new French Original series, Lupin, in the original French and English dub versions, and announced the series’ launch date.
Lupin is a contemporary retelling of the classic French story about Arsène Lupin, a gentleman thief and master of disguise, created in 1905 by French author Maurice Leblanc.
The series stars Omar Sy (The Intouchables, Jurassic World) as Assane Diop, whose life was turned upside down when he was a teenager. It was then that his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Now, twenty-five years later, Assane will use “Arsène Lupin: Gentleman Burglar” as his inspiration to avenge his father.
The cast includes Hervé Pierre (Spin), Nicole Garcia (Captain Marleau), Clotilde Hesme (The Returned), Ludivine Sagnier (The Young Pope), Antoine Gouy (A Very Secret Service), Shirine Boutella (Papicha), and Soufiane Guerrab (Spiral).
A production of Gaumont Television and Netflix, the series is created by George Kay (The Yorkshire Ripper, Criminal: UK) in collaboration with François Uzan (Family Business), and directed by Marcela Said (Narcos: Mexico), Ludovic Bernard (Tell No One), and Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me).
