Netflix announced today the cast for its new Spanish Original series, Feria, which has started filming.
Fantasy-thriller Feria is set in a small village in the Andalusian mountains in the mid-1990s, where the residents are not as innocent as they seem.
Leading the cast of the eight-episode series are Forqué Award winner Marta Nieto (Madre, Mar de plástico), Ana Tomeno (La isla mínima), and Carla Campra (A Different View), along with Ángela Cremonte (Cable Girls), Patricia López (The Plague), Isak Férriz (Gigantes), and Ernest Villegas (Night and Day).
Created by Agustín Martínez (La Caza. Monteperdido, Sin tetas no hay paraíso) and Carlos Montero (Élite, The Mess You Leave Behind), Feria follows Eva (Tomeno) and Sofia (Campra), teen sisters who discover that their parents are monsters — apparently having murdered 23 people before disappearing. Did the girls really not know their mother and father well at all, or was there a reason why their parents were involved in the killings? Left alone to face a town that wants justice and revenge for the victims, Eva and Sofia must figure out how to survive on their own as they seek the truth in Feria, a town where reality hides a fantastic universe.
The series, a production of Filmax, is directed by Jorge Dorado (The Ministry of Time) and Carles Torrens (Locked Up).
Feria will launch globally on Netflix in 2021 (date tba). (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Stay tuned for updates.
