Meget cool! Birgitte Hjort Sørensen has joined fellow Dane Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the upcoming fifth season of Game of Thrones!
Known mostly for playing Katrine Fønsmark in the hit Danish political drama, Borgen, Euro TV star Birgitte Hjort Sørensen has also featured in several British programs over the past couple of years, including comedy Bluestone 42, mystery drama Agatha Christie’s Marple, and the filmed production of National Theatre Live: Coriolanus.
Most recently, Sørensen guest starred alongside Ann Eleonora Jørgensen (The Killing) in “The Killings of Copenhagen,” the 100th (and Nordic noir) episode of the hit British mystery series, Midsomer Murders.
And soon she will be appearing as a Wildling chieftainess in the fifth season of Game of Thrones, the blockbuster fantasy drama based on the George R.R. Martin books. She joins a cast of more than a thousand actors, including Denmark’s Coster-Waldau (as Jaime Lannister), Norway’s Kristofer Hivju (as Tormund Giantsbane), and the Netherlands’ Carice van Houten (as Melisandre) and Michiel Huisman (as Daario Naharis).
