Apple TV has announced La Décision, a new political thriller from France starring César Award nominee Raphaël Personnaz and SAG Award winner Diane Kruger.
In La Décision, Raphaël Personnaz (The Richest Woman in the World, The French Minister) leads the cast as the president of France, and Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds, Saint-Exupéry) costars as the president’s wife and political advisor, Nora.
On one fateful day, the president’s life is turned upside down when an eight-year-old girl goes missing. Her disappearance, while it shocks the public, hits him hard and affects him personally, as she is his illegitimate daughter, born of a secret affair unknown to Nora. When the kidnapping becomes a matter of state, the entire Élysée apparatus intervenes to find the little girl. But who can the president trust behind the closed doors of the palace?
He has risen to the pinnacle of power on the strength of his honesty and integrity, but must he betray the very values to which he owes his election in order to save his daughter? Torn between his private life and public responsibilities, the president is now plunged into a whirlwind of false friendships, unrequited love, power struggles, political games, and espionage.
Directed by Martin Bourboulon (Les Trois Mousquetaires, Carême) and Louis Farge (Culte), the seven-episode French-language thriller also features Sami Bouajila (Ganglands, Germinal), Marina Hands (Off Season, Mythomaniac), and Fanny Sidney (Call My Agent!, Hard).
A production of Solab Films, White Lion Films (a Mediawan company), and M Films for Apple TV, La Décision is executive produced by César Award nominee Nicolas Tiry (Atlantic Bar), Noor Sadar (Machine, Malditos), and Bourboulon. The series is created by Marc Dugain and Corinne Garfin (Coeurs Noirs), Lamara Leprêtre Habib (Dans l’ombre) and Xabi Molia (Les Sentinelles), based on an original idea by Bourboulon and Tiry.
