Created and written by George Kay (Lupin, Hijack, The Long Shadow), The Case stars Jakob Oftebro (Agent Hamilton, In the Name of Love, 1864) and Peter Andersson (“Dragon Tattoo” trilogy, The Unlikely Murderer, Jordskott) in the lead roles of Lead Investigator Thomas Berg and Alfred, a former detective and Thomas’s estranged father, respectively.

The noir story follows Thomas Berg, a clean-cut and highly-regarded lead investigator who, during a seemingly endless summer in Stockholm, is heading the case of a serial killer that is targeting his police colleagues. To find the multiple murderer, Thomas makes a desperate gamble: He turns his estranged father, Alfred, a once well-regarded but now out-of-favor, misanthropic ex-detective, for help. If they stand any chance of protecting their fellow police officers, they must put their differences aside and find a way to work together. Only then will they catch one of the worst killers in Sweden’s history.

The cast of the five-episode series also includes Electra Hallman (Blackwater, Hidden: First Born), Alexander Abdallah (Paradis City, Snabba Cash), Henrik Norlén (Modus, Thicker than Water), Lisette T. Pagler (Blinded, Love & Anarchy), Magnus Krepper (Before We Die, The Bridge), Irina Björklund (Peacemaker, Bordertown), Anders Mossling (The Helicopter Heist, Bäckström), and Anna Maria Käll (Gåsmamman, Thin Blue Line).

A production of B-Reel Films and Observatory Pictures in association with New Pictures, The Case, which recently wrapped filming in Stockholm, is directed by Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing, Death of a Pilgrim), and written by Aron Levander (The Truth Will Out, Agatha Christie’s Hjerson) and Emilie Robson. It is produced by Johannes Åhlund and Ulf Synnerholm for B-Reel Films, and executive produced by George Kay, Kristoffer Nyholm, Willow Grylls, and Matt Sandford.

The Case will launch globally on Netflix in 2026. (You can set a reminder for it now.) Stay tuned for updates.
