Netflix has set the global premiere date for the second season of the inspiring Italian drama series Everything Calls for Salvation (Tutto chiede salvezza).
Season 2 of Everything Calls for Salvation is set two years after the events in Season 1, which is based on the novel of the same name by Daniele Mencarelli, and follows Daniele (Federico Cesari, SKAM Italia, The War is Over), a troubled young man who is involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital. During the course of his week-long stay here, he meets five other patients, contends with research-happy doctors and cynical nurses, and learns things from them that will change his life forever.
In the two years that have passed since then, many things have changed: Daniele and Nina (Fotinì Peluso, Greek Salad) became the parents of little Maria, but broke up shortly after her birth. Now they are fighting for custody of their daughter with the support of their respective families.
In addition, after the intense experience Daniele had during that fateful week, he’s decided to become a nurse. With the help of Dr. Cimaroli (Filippo Nigro, Suburra: Blood on Rome), he is about to start working as an intern at the hospital where he was admitted. Daniele has five weeks to demonstrate to the judge that this can become a stable job, so as to establish himself as a reliable parent. But his work in this new role involves getting to know the new patients in the dormitory, who force him to reflect on his excessive empathy towards the pain of others, and who risk derailing him again…
The five-episode second season of Everything Calls for Salvation, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Thursday, September 26, exclusively on Netflix.
