The Sommerdahl Murders, the Scandi mystery-crime drama series out of Denmark, returns to the US with its second season next month.
With its third season set to go into production this month, the second season of The Sommerdahl Murders arrives in the US next month — on Monday, June 21, exclusively on Acorn TV and its digital channels, including Acorn TV on Amazon Channels.
Following the events in Season 1 — including happenings in the complicated love triangle between Detective Chief Inspector Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind, Darkness-Those Who Kill, Borgen), his criminal technician wife, Marianne (Laura Drasbæk, The Killing, Park Road), and his best friend and colleague, Detective Flemming Torp (André Babikian, The Protectors, Those Who Kill) — Season 2 finds the trio doing their best to balance friendship and love both on and off the job in the picturesque coastline town of Helsingør in Denmark, while murders must still be solved and criminals caught.
Dan and the rest of the homicide department are on the hunt for the person who murdered a world-famous rock star, then a series of deaths at a high school puts Dan on the trail of a suspect in his own ranks. There’s also the suspicious death of a former elite athlete, and a drama steeped in jealousy in Helsingør’s restaurant industry, that must be investigated.
Based on Anna Grue’s best-selling crime mystery novels, The Sommerdahl Murders: Season 2 costars Lotte Andersen (The Bridge), Mathias Käki Jørgensen (Norskov), Peter Gantzler (Couple Trouble), Laura Kjær (Seaside Hotel), Diêm Camille G. (Pros and Cons), Julie Rudbæk (29), Lisbet Lundquist (Unit One), and Peder Thomas Pedersen (Darkness: Those Who Kill).
