Netflix recently announced the main cast for its new Danish Netflix Original series Equinox, which includes Danica Curcic and Lars Brygmann.
Filming has started on Equinox, a character-driven supernatural thriller based on the acclaimed podcast Equinox 1985.
Danica Curcic (Warrior, Nobel, The Bridge) stars as Astrid, a young woman who becomes traumatized and plagued by horrific visions after the inexplicable disappearance of her sister and fellow graduating students in 1999.
In 2020, Astrid is peacefully living with her family when the nightmares suddenly return and start haunting her. When the lone survivor from 1999 mysteriously dies, Astrid is determined to find out what happened to her sister and the class, only to discover a dark and unsettling truth that involves her in ways she never imagined.
Set in Denmark, the six-part series swipes back and forth between 1999 and the present.
Playing 9-year-old Astrid is Viola Martinsen (When the Dust Settles, Splitting Up Together).
The main cast also includes Lars Brygmann (Dicte, Lulu the Bankrobber’s Wife), Hanne Hedelund (Borgen, The Killing), Karoline Hamm (Darkness: Those Who Kill), Fanny Leander Bornedal (The Bridge), and Alexandre Willaume (Rita).
Created by Tea Lindeburg, the series is produced by Dorthe Riis Lauridsen, executive produced by Piv Bernth for Apple Tree Productions, and directed by Søren Balle.
Equinox will launch globally exclusively on Netflix (date to be announced). You can add it to you queue now.
Stay tuned for updates.
