NEW EURO TV SERIES & SEASONS

Cassandre: Season 6 (France)

This crime drama series follows Florence Cassandre (Gwendoline Hamon, Fatal Reunion, Perfect Murders), a devoted mother and skilled cop who left Paris for a new job as the police chief in the town of Annecy, located in the beautiful Haute-Savoie region, in order to be near her son. In the Season 6 opener, the townspeople are gearing up for the Annecy City Cup, not just the most important regatta in the region but an event that attracts tons of tourists and brings in beaucoup money. What could throw a damper on it, though, is the death of a teenager found aboard a sailboat that was deliberately torched. (Video is from Season 5)

Costarring Alexandre Varga (Pacific Criminal), Dominique Pinon (Delicatessen), and Jessy Salomée Ugolin (Love and Trouble in Paris), Cassandre: Season 6 premieres Tuesday, March 3.

Gerri (Italy)

Set in Puglia in the historic port city of Trani, this crime drama stars Giulio Beranek (Christian) as Gerri Esposito, a brilliant inspector of Romani origin who grew up in foster care. Now in his 30s, Gerri still hasn’t come to terms with his past, which, along with his unconventional investigative methods, affects his relationships with his colleagues. They include Lea Coen (Valentina Romani, La porta rossa), the new deputy inspector who just transferred here from Rome; by-the-book Chief Santeramo (Massimo Wertmüller, The Vertical Line); and fellow inspector Roberto Calandrini (Lorenzo Adorni, Kostas). In the series opener, Gerri investigates the murder of an influential lawyer’s teen daughter, who was found dead on the beach. (The trailer is in Italian. To read English subtitles, turn on closed captions (CC) and, under settings, set the subtitles/CC to “Italian (auto-generated) >> English.”)

Costarring Fabrizio Ferracane (The King) and Cristina Cappelli (Generation 56K), Gerri premieres Tuesday, March 3.

Codename: Annika (Finland)

In this Nordic spy thriller, the first mission for still-in-training detective Emma Haka (Sannah Nedergård, The Sandhamn Murders) is within Stockholm’s corrupt fine art scene. The typically calm-and-collected Emma transforms herself into the wild and fiery Annika Stormare in order to get close to Rasmus Ståhlgren (Ardalan Esmaili, Snabba Cash), a gallery own who’s a suspect in a case against Blanko, a major money launderer. The deeper Emma gets in the mission, the more lines start to blur between herself and her legend…

Costarring Eva Melander (Snow Angels), Clarisse Lhoni-Botte (Balthazar), Moa Gammel (Jordskott), and Helena Bergström (Spring Tide), Codename: Annika premieres Tuesday, March 10.

Mismatch: Season 3 (Face à Face) (France)

The new season of this crime comedy finds police investigator Vanessa Tancelin (Constance Gay, Unit 42, Spiral) forced to collaborate with an army officer to determine why a young soldier’s parachute jump turned fatal. Meanwhile, her half-sister, Justine Rameau (Claire Borotra, Le Code, Cassandre), an investigating judge, must be careful not to overstep military jurisdiction. (Video is from Season 2)

Costarring Clémentine Justine (Deadly Tropics), Mismatch: Season 3 premieres Tuesday, March 10.

Tatort: Vienna: Season 4 (Austria)

This long-running crime drama series, another in the Tatort franchise, centers on the criminal investigations of Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer, Murder by the Lake), a rather rough and gruff but intuitive detective, and his sensitive partner, Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser, Donna Leon’s Commissario Guido Brunetti Mysteries), of the Vienna Police’s murder squad. Season 4 consists of seven episodes. (Video is from Season 3)

Tatort: Vienna: Season 4 premieres Tuesday, March 17.

The Black Widow (Un soupçon) (France)

Inspired by true events, this mystery drama stars Odile Vuillemin (The Paris Murders) as Isabelle, a grieving widow who becomes the prime suspect in the death of her husband. In charge of the investigation is Captain Mathilde Delboscq (Joyce Bibring, Camilla Läckberg’s Erica), who tries to figure out if Odile is a killer, a liar, a femme fatale, or simply a stay-at-home mum who’s always had to fight to survive. For Mathilde, this could be the case of her career or maybe even of her life. (The trailer is in French. To read English subtitles, turn on closed captions (CC) and, under settings, set the subtitles/CC to “French (auto-generated) >> English.”)

Costarring Yann Sundberg (Cassandre), Paul Le Bourdon (Alex Hugo), and Aurélie Vaneck (Tom and Lola), The Black Widow premieres Tuesday, March 24.

Fallen: Season 2 (Sanningen) (Sweden)

In the second season of this crime drama, police inspector Iris Broman (Sofia Helin, The Bridge, Atlantic Crossing, Mystery Road) and the Kalla Fall, the Malmö Police’s cold case unit, investigate when a body is found buried near a manor house outside Ystad. (Video is from Season 1)

The cast includes Håkan Bengtsson (A Nearly Normal Family), Kajsa Ernst (The Sandhamn Murders), Inez Andersson (Clark), and Peter Gardiner (Top Dog), along with Anna Asp (Beck), Björn Bengtsson (Thicker than Water), and Pål Sverre Hagen (Furia).

Fallen: Season 2 premieres Tuesday, March 24.

Generations (Generationer) (Denmark)

This drama series about three generations of women and family secrets opens with the discovery of the skeleton of an infant in the attic of a property in Frederiksberg. Martha (Ulla Henningsen, The New Nurses), an 87-year-old woman who lives on the property, promptly confesses; she had killed her own child. But her family finds this tough to believe. Regardless, this sets in motion a series of events that will have consequences for the entire family when their secrets come to light. (The trailer is supposed to have closed captions/translated subtitles, but they didn’t show up for me; maybe you’ll have better luck.)

The cast includes Anette Støvelbæk (The New Nurses), Rikke Eberhardt Isen (The New Nurses), Alice Bier Zandén (The Night Manager), Jan Linnebjerg (Hotel Paradis), and Simon Sears (Ride Upon the Storm).

Generations premieres Tuesday, March 31.

Alexandra Ehle: Season 3 (France)

It’s been kind of a long wait, but the third season of this delightful mystery series will soon be here, and with a crossover episode with Astrid kicking it off to boot! In Paris, Astrid (Sara Mortensen, Off Track) and Raphaëlle (Lola Dewaere, Village of Shadows) discover a human eye in a jar of onions. At the same time, in Bordeaux, quirky coroner Alexandra Ehle (Julie Depardieu, Captain Marleau) examines a corpse whose eyes were removed. Alexandra, Astrid, and Raphaëlle are gonna have to cooperate if they’re gonna solve this two-piece puzzle. (The trailer is in French. To read English subtitles, turn on closed captions (CC) and, under settings, set the subtitles/CC to “French (auto-generated) >> English.”)

Costarring Bernard Yerlès (Murder in the Larzac), Alexandra Ehle: Season 3 premieres Tuesday, March 31.

Chantal: Season 1 (Belgium) — English Dub

This crime comedy series follows Chantal Vantomme (Maaike Cafmeyer, The Twelve), who, with her daughter, Emma (Anna-Marie Missoul, Styx), begins a new life in the (fictitious) small rural town of Loveringem, where Chantal is the newly-appointed police inspector. Although the townspeople are used to settling their differences themselves, crimes still happen, which she investigates with assistance from her cop sidekick, Rik (Dries Heyneman, Soil), despite interference from rival detective, Johnny (Mathias Sercu, Under Fire). (Video is subtitled, not dubbed)

Costarring Steven Mahieu (Under Fire), Yves Degryse (Callboys), and Zouzou Ben Chikha (The Twelve), amongst others, the English-dubbed version of Chantal: Season 1 begins streaming Tuesday, March 10.

Based on the “Detective Koskinen” novels by Seppo Jokinen, this crime drama follows Inspector Sakari Koskinen (Eero Aho, The Wrong Turn) and his team in the Violent Crime Unit of the Central Finland Police Department in Tampere, including mother-of-three Ulla Lundelin (Maria Ylipää, Arctic Circle), Tinder user Risto Pekki (Turkka Mastomäki, Helsinki Syndrome), and hockey fan Markku Kaatio (Jon-Jon Geitel, Freezing Embrace). Despite the unit being understaffed, under-resourced, and overworked, Koskinen and his crew investigate murders in a nursing home and the tramway control center, drug gang-related arson and homicides, a jewelry robbery gone wrong, and more. (The trailer is in Finnish; closed captions/subtitles are not available.)

Costarring Maria Ylipää (Arctic Circle), Turkka Mastomäki (Bordertown), and Jon-Jon Geitel (Bordertown), Lakeside Murders: Season 1 returns to streaming Tuesday, March 17. (Season 2 will premiere later in 2026.)

Dante teaches a class at the Leonardo Da Vinci high school, where he applies his nonconformist teaching method and establishes a special bond with his students.
