Netflix has set the premiere date for Old Dog, New Tricks, a new comedy series from Spain.

Filmed entirely in Galicia, Old Dog, New Tricks (aka Animal salvaje) centers on Antón Gandoy (Luis Zahera, Wrong Side of the Tracks, Unauthorized Living, Sky Rojo), a rural Galician veterinarian who, amid the ongoing crisis in the farming world and the closure of livestock farms, finds himself without clients because they can no longer afford to pay him.
With few options left, he accepts a job offer from his upbeat niece, Uxía (Lucía Caraballo, I Don’t Like Driving, Dime Quién Soy: Mistress of War), the manager of a boutique pet store that caters to the Coruña jet set. In this perfectly designed and colorful space, stocked with more gourmet products than a supermarket, Antón goes from treating cows to diagnosing a guinea pig’s dyslexia. Amidst grooming dogs, giving hamsters check-ups, and dealing with pet owners who are fussier than their animals, Antón quickly realizes that this world doesn’t resemble at all the one that he knew; likewise, it isn’t the world Uxía imagined either.
Old Dog, New Tricks, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, October 3, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Costars in the eight-episode series include Carmen Ruíz (Love in Difficult Times) and Antonio “Morris” Durán (Cocaine Coast).
A production of Alea Media, the series is directed by Alberto de Toro (The Other Side) and Víctor García León (Vote for Juan), who co-wrote the script alongside Ana Boyero (Money Heist), Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor (Death Inc.), and Germán Aparicio (When No One Sees Us), as well as Dani Castro (Vote for Juan). It is executive produced by Aitor Gabilondo (Patria) and Jota Aceytuno (Urban. La vida es nuestra).
