The World Does Not Exist, a drama thriller limited series from France, has premiered in the US.

Based on the novel Le monde n’existe pas by Fabrice Humbert, the four-episode drama, The World Does Not Exist (Le monde n’existe pas), stars Niels Schneider (Totems, Ad Vitam [2018])) as Adam Vollmann, a forty-year-old journalist for a national daily newspaper in Paris.

One day, Adam sees a televised news report about the shocking murder of a sixteen-year-old girl, Lola Montes, in Guerches-sur-Isoire, the small town he fled twenty years earlier, vowing never to return. Except he does, after he convinces his editor to let him go there to investigate the story. Adam’s interest in it is due to the man suspected of being Lola’s killer: Axel Challe (Thomas Debaene, Les petits meurtres d’Agatha Christie), his childhood friend, whom he idolized growing up.

Now, back in Guerches, Adam is forced to confront a painful past…

The World Does Not Exist is now streaming in the US exclusively on France Channel.
