Netflix has announced the premiere date for The Snow Girl 2: The Soul Game, the second season of the mystery thriller from Spain.
Picking up where the first season left off, The Snow Girl 2: The Soul Game (La chica de nieve 2: El juego del alma) finds journalist Miren Rojo (Milena Smit, The Platform 2, The Girl in the Mirror, Parallel Mothers) with an envelope, on which is written, “DO YOU WANT TO PLAY?” Inside the envelope is a Polaroid picture with “Laura Valdivia 2012” written on it. The woman in the photo is bound, gagged, and blindfolded.
So begins a new macabre game for Miren, one in which she will bet her life and even her own sanity.
Following Miren’s successful investigation in the first season, she now delves into an elite school that seems to be at the center of the disappearance and murder of two young girls. This time she works with Jaime (Miki Esparbé, The Innocent, Drug Squad: Costa del Sol), an investigative journalist who arrives at the Sur newspaper fleeing from his past and trying to recover his lost reputation. As they dig beneath the school’s veneer, they discover mysteries, secrets, lies, and characters as full of wounds as Miren herself.
The Snow Girl 2: The Soul Game, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, January 31, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
Season 2 is based on the novel El juego del alma, the second title in Javier Castillo’s best-selling “Miren Triggs” series of psychological thriller books to be adapted for the screen (after La chica de nieve, which became The Snow Girl series).
Reprising their roles for the new season are Aixa Villagrán (The Red Virgin, The Messiah) as Inspector Belén Millán, Jose Coronado (Wrong Side of the Tracks, Unauthorized Living) as Eduardo, and Marco Cáceres (The Vineyard, Cable Girls) as Chaparro. Joining the cast are Hugo Welzel (The Invisible Girl), Luis Callejo (The Longest Night), Luis Bermejo (High Seas), and Vicente Romero (Morocco: Love in Times of War), amongst others.
Produced by Atípica Films, The Snow Girl 2: The Soul Game is written by Jesús Mesas Silva (The Boarding School: Las Cumbres) and Javier Andrés Roig (Locked Up), and directed by David Ulloa (The Plague) and Laura Alvea (The Endless Trench, Arde Madrid).
