Return to Las Sabinas, a telenovela from Spain, has finally launched in the US. Check out the trailer and the series!
Having already debuted globally, Spanish soap opera Return to Las Sabinas (Regreso a Las Sabinas) is the first daily melodrama produced for a streaming platform, in this case Disney+.
The series follows the Molina sisters, Gracia (Celia Freijeiro, Red Queen, Perfect Life) and Paloma (Olivia Molina, The Barrier, Under Suspicion), who return to the family estate of Las Sabinas in the (fictional) town of Manterana to help their sick father, Emilio (Nancho Novo, The Cook of Castamar).
Here, Gracia reunites with her childhood sweetheart, Miguel (Andrés Velencoso, Elite, Velvet Colección), who is now engaged to Esther (Natalia Sánchez, Heirs to the Land). Miguel’s brother, Tano (Miquel Fernández, If Only, Alba), who was also in love with Gracia, decides to make his move when he sees her again.
With Paloma taking over the family’s land, she ends up clashing with another landowner, Paca Utrera (María Casal, Mercado Central), who has a nefarious plan for the village. Meanwhile, Emilio must win back his daughters’ affection, but a terrible secret he shares with Paca stands in the way.
Elsewhere in town, Miguel and Tano’s mother, Silvia (Marta Calvó, 45 rpm), is eager for Gracia to leave Manterana. Then young Óscar is found dead under strange circumstances, prompting Manuela (Julia Carnero, Cathedral of the Sea) to investigate the murder with the help of Óscar’s brother, Álex (Raúl Mérida, Cable Girls), a priest.
Expect more drama for the Molina sisters et al. in Las Sabinas as the series progresses!
Return to Las Sabinas, a Hulu Original, premiered in the US today, Tuesday, October 15, with the first seven episodes, exclusively on Hulu. New episodes will be released each weekday at 12am PT.
