The masked vigilante known as Zorro is back, played in the new series Zorro by Miguel Bernardeau (Elite, 1899).

Set in 1834, Zorro follows a young Diego de la Vega (Bernardeau) as various players vie to control California — from old colonizers, the newly-installed government craving support from Mexico after serving the Spanish crown, and Russian oligarchs using their Russian-American companies, to the French, who don’t want to relinquish their control of this rich territory, and the newly-formed United States of America.

As each group aims to gain power over California, victims lie in their wake: the indigenous peoples, some of whom serve as semi-slaves in the missions; the Mexican workers exploited and disenfranchised by the government; and the immigrants of every race and origin that came to California in search of opportunities.

Their last hope is a masked hero that has kept the peace in their world: Zorro.

Zorro, an Amazon Original series, premieres in the US today, January 18, 2024, at 7pm ET, exclusively on Prime Video. The series debuts at midnight on January 19 in Spain, Andorra, Mexico, Portugal, and Latin America.

The cast includes Renata Notni (El Dragón: Return of a Warrior), Dalia Xiuhcoatl (The Five Juanas), Emiliano Zurita (The Head of Joaquín Murrieta), Elia Galera (El Cid), Paco Tous (Money Heist), Rodolfo Sancho (Heirs to the Land), Cristo Fernández (Ted Lasso), Francisco Reyes (30 Coins), Cecilia Suárez (Promised Land), Luis Tosar (Code Name Emperor), and Ana Layevska (Triptych).

Created by Carlos Portela (Velvet, Velvet Colección, Cable Girls), the series is directed by Javier Quintas (Money Heist), Jorge Saavedra (Néboa), and José Luis Alegría (Toy Boy).
