Netflix has set the global premiere date for the new German sci-fi mystery thriller miniseries The Signal.
In the German sci-fi mystery miniseries The Signal (Das Signal) (formerly titled Hello), astronaut Paula (Peri Baumeister, Sleeping Dog, Skylines) is back on earth after months in orbit. Now, just a short flight across the pond will bring her back to her family. But Paula never makes it home. Her husband, Sven (Florian David Fitz, Oskars Kleid, The Most Beautiful Day), and their daughter, Charlie (Yuna Bennett, Hard Feelings, Dear Thomas), wait at arrivals in vain. It’s as if the plane has vanished from the face of the earth.
While Sven tries to shield Charlie from the terrible news, he clutches at every straw of hope he can find. Finally, it seems he’s onto something and his faith is rewarded: Paula has left him a clue, a riddle, a breadcrumb trail that Sven follows readily. But the further he follows it, the more his life starts to fall apart, the deeper the mystery grows, and the greater the threat becomes for him and Charlie — and the whole planet.
Because, while stationed on the ISS, Paula made an unbelievable discovery in the depths of space.
The Signal, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Thursday, March 7, 2024, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Featuring in the four-episode series are Hadi Khanjanpour (The Covenant), Sheeba Chadha (Mirzapur), Katharina Schüttler (Hotel Europa), Nilam Farooq (The Witnesses), and Meret Becker (Babylon Berlin), with guest star Katharina Thalbach (Strike).
Written by Florian David Fitz, along with Nadine Gottmann (Marder) and Kim Zimmermann (Skylines), the series is directed by Sebastian Hilger (Ayuda) and Philipp Leinemann (Tempel).
