Netflix has set the global premiere date for Supersex, the biopic drama series about Italian adult entertainment superstar Rocco Siffredi, starring Alessandro Borghi.
I’ve only seen him in a handful of shows, the most notable amongst them the crime drama film Suburra and the spinoff series Suburra: Blood on Rome, but I love me some Alessandro Borghi. He was great as a self-made gangster in those titles, and now, in Supersex, he takes on the role of porn superstar Rocco Siffredi.
The seven-episode series is inspired by the real life of Rocco Siffredi, whose documentary Rocco, had been streaming on Netflix. Supersex dramatizes the story of Siffredi’s life — from his origins and his family, to how and when Rocco Tano, a simple guy from Ortona, became Rocco Siffredi, the most famous porn star in the world.
Supersex, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
In addition to Borghi, the cast includes Jasmine Trinca (On My Skin: The Last Seven Days of Stefano Cucchi) as Lucia, a fictional female character who represents a synthesis of most women with whom Rocco had a relationship in his life; Adriano Giannini (Bang Bang Baby) as Tommaso, Rocco’s half-brother; and Saul Nanni (Mad in Italy) as Rocco as a young man.
Other cast members are Enrico Borello (The Invisible Thread), Vincenzo Nemolato (Everything Calls for Salvation), Gaia Messerklinger (Paradise), Jade Pedri (They Were Ten), and Linda Caridi (The Hunter).
Written by Francesca Manieri (We Are Who We Are, The Miracle), the series is directed by Matteo Rovere (The Law According to Lidia Poët), Francesco Carrozzini (The Hanging Sun), and Francesca Mazzoleni (Romulus).
