Prime Video has set the global premiere date for Everybody Loves Diamonds, a new heist drama from Italy starring Kim Rossi Stuart.
Inspired by the Antwerp Diamond Heist of 2003, dubbed “the largest diamond theft in the world” by worldwide media, Everybody Loves Diamonds follows a team of small-time Italian thieves, led by Leonardo Notarbartolo (Kim Rossi Stuart, Maltese: The Mafia Detective), who manages to deceive top-level security with a genius mastermind plan and steal millions of dollars’ worth of precious stones from the Antwerp Diamond Centre.
The eight-episode drama series with a comedic twist also stars Anna Foglietta (Mafia Only Kills in Summer), Gianmarco Tognazzi (Romanzo Criminale), Carlotta Antonelli (Suburra: Blood on Rome), and Leonardo Lidi (Rose Island), with the participation of Rupert Everett (My Best Friend’s Wedding) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange).
Directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli (Redemption, Maltese: The Mafia Detective, The Young Montalbano), Everybody Loves Diamonds is produced by Mario Gianani (The Good Mothers) and Lorenzo Gangarossa (Anna) for Wildside, a Fremantle company, and written by Michele Astori (Mafia Only Kills in Summer), Stefano Bises (The Miracle), Giulio Carrieri (The Man Without Gravity), and Bernardo Pellegrini (Thou Shalt Not Kill).
Everybody Loves Diamonds, an Amazon Original Series, premieres globally on Friday, October 13, exclusively on Prime Video.
