Today Netflix dropped the official trailer and announced the global release date for Season 2 of its Spanish dramedy Valeria.
Based on the popular “Valeria” novels by Elísabet Benavent, contemporary dramedy series Valeria returns next month with a new season filled with love, sex, career, and life dramas amongst the titular character and her trio of best friends.
Reprising their roles are Diana Gómez (45 rpm, I Know Who You Are) as Valeria, Silma López (Cosas de la vida, Private Sales) as Lola, Paula Malia (The Neighbor, If I Hadn’t Met You) as Carmen, and Teresa Riott (Barcelona Summer Night, Cuéntame) as Nerea, along with Maxi Iglesias (Velvet, Ingobernable) as Victor and Ibrahim Al Shami (El secreto de puente viejo) as Adrián.
Following the events in Season 1, the new season finds Valeria back in Madrid and having to face a decision that could mark her future as a writer: hide behind a pseudonym and finally make a living from her chosen profession, or renounce the publication of her novel and continue squeezing herself through the inexhaustible world of junk contracts. The rest of Valeria’s life continues to have highs and lows, as well — including reconnecting with the irresistible Victor — and she is fortunate that she has the support of the three pillars of her life: her friends Lola, Carmen and Nerea, who go through crucial moments in their own lives.
Valeria: Season 2, a Netflix Original series, premieres globally on Friday, August 13, exclusively on Netflix.
