Netflix announced today the sci-fi comedy film Blasted, inspired by the real-life UFO phenomenon in Hessdalen, Norway.
Blasted follows childhood friends Sebastian and Mikkel, who reconnect for Sebastian’s bachelor party. While Mikkel never matured past being a teenage laser tag prodigy, Sebastian grew into a career-obsessed workaholic who is using the shindig to schmooze a potential client. But when the party stumbles head-first into an alien invasion, it’s up to Mikkel and Sebastian to reunite as the kick-ass laser tag duo they once were and fight back.
Axel Bøyum (Witch Hunt, Home Ground) and Fredrik Skogsrud (Recoil, Eyewitness) star as Sebastian and Mikkel, respectively. Joining them in Blasted are Mathias Luppichini (Couples Therapy) as Audun, André Sørum (Home Ground) as Kasper, Eirik Hallert (Aber Bergen) as Pelle, Evelyn Rasmussen Osazuwa (Hotel Cæsar) as Stine, and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Witch Hunt) as Hjørdis.
Written by Emanuel Nordrum (Asphalt Burning), the film is directed by Martin Sofiedal (Legend of the Ghost Dagger) and produced by Are Heidenstrøm (A Man Called Ove) at Miso Film. The executive producers are Peter Bose and Jonas Allen for Miso Film.
Blasted will premiere globally on Netflix in 2022. You can set a reminder for it now at www.netflix.com/blasted.
Stay tuned for updates.
