The next Netflix Original series from Italy is the romantic comedy An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts, starring Claudia Gusmano and Lorenzo Adorni.
Based on Silvia Zucca‘s novel of the same name, An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts (Guida astrologica per cuori infranti) follows Alice Bassi (Claudia Gusmano, Mafia Only Kills in Summer), a single (not by choice), 30-something woman who works as a production assistant at a small television network. Despite being the most competent person in the room, she has few chances for upward mobility in this job.
Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend, Carlo, is getting married and about to become a father, as Davide (Michele Rosiello, Gomorrah), the network’s charming and mysterious new creative director, arrives to put everyone to the test.
Then Alice’s life begins to change after she meets Tio (Lorenzo Adorni, The Hunter), an actor on the network’s flagship soap opera and a self-professed astrological guru, who becomes her personal “astrological guide for broken hearts.”
A production of Italian International Film – Lucisano Group, the series is created and directed by Bindu de Stoppani (Finding Camille), co-written by Fabrizio Cestaro (The Ladies’ Paradise), and co-directed by Michela Andreozzi (Brave ragazza). It will be filmed entirely in Turin with the contribution of Piemonte Film TV Fund and the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts, a Netflix Original series, will premiere globally on Netflix (date tba).
Stay tuned for updates.
